**The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, in partnership with the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and Litquake, is hosting a 24-hour Moby Dick reading marathon in the Maritime Museum.** Join us on September 12th & 13th from noon to noon for San Francisco's secret tradition, steeped in both maritime history and theatrical innovation! Tango dance classes with Diego and Alejandra at La Bruja

Diego Lanau and Alejandra Saravia teach tango in Berkeley! This is a series of four classes, Wednesdays, starting September 2nd. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Diego and Alejandra teach the dance techniques that make communication possible! These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people. Wednesdays: Sept 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd 6:45 pm: check-in 7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series 8:00-8:30 pm practica 8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango series 9:30-10:00 pm practica The intermediate series is geared towards people who have been dancing tango for about three months (12 tango classes). International superstar Maggie Cheung (In the Mood for Love) embodies tragic screen siren Ruan Lingyu, known as the “Greta Garbo of China,” in this unconventional biopic by Hong Kong New Wave master Stanley Kwan (Rouge). Praised for her moving and emotive onscreen presence, Ruan’s private life, which was frequent fodder for the vicious Shanghai tabloids, began to mirror the melodramas which brought her fame, culminating in her suicide at age 24. SonoMusette: channeling mid-20th century Paris

SonoMusette is a terrific quintet that draws on the timeless works of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and their contemporaries. At the center of it all is Paris-born singer Mimi Pirard, who is backed up by musicians on accordion, piano, bass, and drums.
