**The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, in partnership with the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and Litquake, is hosting a 24-hour Moby Dick reading marathon in the Maritime Museum.** Join us on September 12th & 13th from noon to noon for San Francisco's secret tradition, steeped in both maritime history and theatrical innovation! Ramiro Boero (bandoneon) is visiting for a short time from Buenos Aires. Sumi Lee (piano) is the Bay Area director of the ensemble. The quintet also includes Sascha Jacobsen (bass), Hereen Oh (violin), and Polina Sedukh (violin). With DJ Charles Carbone spinning classic vinyl tango records!!! Sascha Jacobsen & Andrea Fuchilieri are wonderful dance teachers! Come Sing Show Tunes!

This event consists of an informal concert in which the performers are all of us! We'll take turns singing Broadway show tunes. All musical levels are welcome, whether you're an aspiring musical theater star or just someone who belts out show tunes in the shower. If you feel shy about singing a solo, it's okay to come and listen. We'll also do some group singing. Please think ahead and pick one or two solos you'd enjoy singing (this is not a firm commitment, you can change your mind if you get the jitters). Depending on how many people choose to sing, you'll either get to sing one or both of your songs. We don't usually have an accompanist, so after you pick your song(s), you can search for a suitable accompaniment on YouTube. Tango dance classes with Diego and Alejandra at La Bruja

Diego Lanau and Alejandra Saravia teach tango in Berkeley! This is a series of four classes, Wednesdays, starting September 2nd. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Diego and Alejandra teach the dance techniques that make communication possible! These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people. Wednesdays: Sept 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd 6:45 pm: check-in 7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series 8:00-8:30 pm practica 8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango series 9:30-10:00 pm practica The intermediate series is geared towards people who have been dancing tango for about three months (12 tango classes). Thursday Night Irish Set Dancing at the Plough and Stars

Come and take part in our decades-long tradition of Irish partner dancing on Thursday nights at the most authentic, most famous, and coziest Irish pub on the West Coast. We have a different band performing live traditional Irish music for us each week. Typical attendance is 15-25 dancers.
