How to Start Your Art Collection: Exclusive Visit to Artist Studio

How to Start Your Art Collection: Exclusive Visit to Artist Studio

Tue, Jul 21, 4:00 PM
From Art Lovers Berlin

Today we look at the works of an artist who over the past two decades, has built an oeuvre consisting primarily of screen prints on paper and canvas. Prior to that, the artist had worked extensively in photography, filmmaking, and set design. The screenprinting work is informed by architecture - ancient and modern structures, calligraphy, graffiti, handwriting, and the movement of the masses through big metropolises. Other techniques on paper are included in the visit - from lithography to etching, cyanotype to woodblock printing - and more! Please note, the studio visit starts promptly at 12:00. This studio is located on the top floor and has no elevator: you will have to walk four flights of stairs. Beverages will be served, poetry may be read. The event is hosted on donation basis between €25-35. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR STUDIO VISITS: Get to know a handful of carefully selected artists who are enhancing, interjecting, and challenging art history through new media, new ideas, and new formats. Every artist builds their own universe, and for one exclusive afternoon, we are welcome into their sacred space of creation. The artist will tell their story and you are free to ask questions, engage in dialogue, and leave feeling inspired - and even with a beautiful new artwork to illuminate your space!

Community Summer Fest (Pop Punk / Emo / Metalcore) 🥀

Community Summer Fest (Pop Punk / Emo / Metalcore) 🥀

Sat, Jul 18, 2:00 PM
From The Heart Shaped Society: Home of Emo & Post-Hardcore
4.9

**Summer is in the air, festival season is in full bloom, and we’ve heard a rumour drifting through the trees that another heart-shaped fest might be about to happen… We can neither confirm nor deny who started it, but the park has already begun to look unusually emotionally available, purely coincidentally timed with sunshine, shared beers, and a suspicious amount of pop punk! <3** **💖 On July 18th we’ll celebrate the second edition of our Community Summer Fest!** This fete is for anyone who carries a bit of everyday angst, loves the genres above, or simply appreciates the quiet art of existing outdoors with a cold drink and no urgent responsibilities. 🕓 4 PM to 10 PM 📍 Bürgerpark Pankow, Wilhelm-Kuhr-Straße 9, 13187 Berlin 🎸 Pop Punk, Emo & Metalcore 🎟️ **€6 / €1 for everyone who donated to the fundraiser (you are officially considered heroes)!** All contributions go into a noble cause: pizza for everyone, and if the universe (and the donations) are generous enough, a bit of alcohol for the collective morale fund. Our fairy Vladi will also draw the winner of the fundraiser during the event :) **SOUNDS LIKE:** PARAMORE \| FALL OUT BOY \| GREEN DAY \| BLINK\-182 \| SUM 41 \| THE OFFSPRING \| AVRIL LAVIGNE \| DANCE GAVIN DANCE \| SLEEPING WITH SIRENS \| PIERCE THE VEIL \| GOOD CHARLOTTE \| YELLOWCARD \| THE ALL\-AMERICAN REJECTS \| MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE \| ALL TIME LOW \| TAKING BACK SUNDAY \| NECK DEEP \| THE STORY SO FAR \| THE USED \| BRING ME THE HORIZON \| SAOSIN \| UNDEROATH \| HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS \| SILVERSTEIN \| A DAY TO REMEMBER \| ASKING ALEXANDRIA \| OF MICE & MEN \| MAYDAY PARADE \| PANIC\! AT THE DISCO \| NOTHING\, NOWHERE \| RAIN CITY DRIVE \| BOSTON MANOR \| BASEMENT \| YOU ME AT SIX \| DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL \| SECONDHAND SERENADE \| LOVELESS and many more… **🥀 What to Bring** 🍻 Bring your own drinks—this is a BYO situation in the most communal sense of the word. We’ll provide cups and the essential infrastructure of daydrinking! 🍾 Bring your open alcohol bottles and/or mixers so we can also share with each other. 🧺 Also, snag your picnic blanket to sit on! 🚻 Proper public toilets are available nearby (Berliner Toilette, reliably functional). 🗑️ Public trash bins are located throughout the park. Please take your waste with you when leaving. Respecting the space is part of keeping events like this possible. **So come by for some sun, friends and music <3** P.S. If the weather decides not to cooperate, we will postpone the event. We’ll keep everyone updated in that case. P.P.S. We will be taking photos at this event. If you wish not to be photographed, please inform the organizers when you arrive.
