SFMTA #48 Bus Stop** **Let's explore the hidden trails and scenic views of Glen Canyon Park on a group hike with fellow nature enthusiasts!** **The park features an extensive grassland with adjoining trees that supports breeding pairs of red-tailed hawks and great horned owls, striking rock outcrops, and arid patches covered by "coastal scrub" plant communities.** **The bottom of the canyon, where Islais Creek flows, is irregular but moderate in slope, dropping 350 feet over a distance of about 1 mile.** This is a Kid Friendly event. Norlu: Make Friends & Walk!
Sat, Jul 11, 5:30 PM**Join us for a relaxed urban hike and meet new people while exploring North Beach. 🌉** We'll spend about 75 min walking through one of San Francisco's most iconic neighborhoods. Today's route includes places like **Coit Tower**, **City Lights Bookstore**, **Jack Kerouac Alley**, the **Filbert Street Steps**, and several other fascinating stops. Along the walk, we'll use Norlu to guide us to each Wonder. You're welcome to download the free app ([iPhone](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/norlu/id6760863705) & [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.norlu.norlu&pcampaignid=web_share)) and collect them with us, but it's completely optional, the walk is designed to be enjoyable either way. Many attendees come on their own, so don't worry if you're joining solo. Malibu Farm in Tiburon is one of those places that makes a Sunday feel right: sitting on the water, relaxed and enjoying scenic views. **What to expect:** Brunch at 12:30, six seats, and a leisurely Sunday vibe with good food and great conversation. After brunch, if the mood strikes, the Tiburon waterfront is a perfect for a stroll. **Who this is for:** You’d rather go somewhere worth going than just somewhere convenient. You like good atmosphere, even better company, and a Sunday that feels restorative. We’re growing a small group of regulars — people who genuinely look forward to seeing each other. Join us in San Francisco for a unique, hands-on experience where you'll learn how to rescue injured pigeons, provide life-changing first aid, and support companion animals living alongside our unhoused neighbors. Every day, pigeons in San Francisco suffer from a hidden danger: string, fishing line, hair, and other debris that wrap tightly around their toes and feet, causing immense pain, infections, and sometimes the loss of entire limbs. During this event, we'll teach you how to safely spot, catch, and help these incredible birds before releasing them back to their families and flocks. We'll also be carrying food and toys to share with companion animals belonging to our unhoused neighbors because compassion doesn't stop with one species. This event is about building a kinder city for all animals. Whether you're a lifelong animal advocate or simply someone who wants to make a difference, this is your chance to turn empathy into action. You'll leave with new skills, amazing stories, and the incredible feeling that comes from knowing you made someone's world a little better. No experience necessary. Yoga & hike at Redwood Regional Park!
Fri, Jul 17, 11:30 PM🌿 Yoga & Hike at Redwood Regional Park Join us for an evening of movement, mindfulness, nature, and connection. We'll gather at 4:30 PM on the grassy area across from Canyon Meadow Parking Lot for a casual meet-and-greet. Everyone is invited to introduce themselves and share one or two things that brought them joy this week before we welcome our yoga instructor for the day. We'll begin with a gentle introduction to standing yoga poses and mindful movement. No yoga mat is needed—just wear comfortable clothing and bring layers for the hike afterward. The session is designed to be welcoming for all experience levels. We're delighted to have Sheena guiding our yoga practice. Community contributions help fairly compensate our instructor for sharing her time and expertise and make it possible to continue offering wellness experiences like these in the future. If you'd like to support this growing community, donations of any amount are warmly appreciated and can be made directly on the day of the event or through the Pledge link. Your generosity helps create a sustainable space where people can improve their well-being, build meaningful relationships, and reconnect with nature together.
