Garden Maintenance Day

Join us for a day of giving back to the community with Pasadena Rotary. We will be helping to maintain a garden at one of our local schools. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring your own water, and bring work gloves if you have them. Whether you are interested in learning more about Nonprofit organizations, want to get involved in Community Outreach programs, or simply enjoy volunteering for a good cause, this is the perfect event for you. Meet new friends, network with fellow volunteers, and be a part of a community that values Charity Events and Social Networking. Atheists Volunteer FOOD DISTRIBUTION! Come help and give out food!

[Atheists United](www.atheistsunited.org), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, is fighting the emergency food crisis with our partners [Sunday Assembly Los Angeles](www.sundayassemblyla.com) by hosting a food distribution in Los Angeles outside our offices. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and give out over 3,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us assemble and organize food packages from 12pm - 5pm every third Friday.** From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together. Music and snacks will make it well worth your time. AU Food Distribution -- Volunteers Needed!

## Details [Atheists United](http://www.atheistsunited.org/), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, hosts a food distribution in Los Angeles every month at our office building. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and Sunday Assembly Los Angeles to give out over 4,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us unload, sort, assemble, and give away grocery kits from 12pm - 5pm.** From 12pm - 3:30 we unload the truck, sort the food, and build the grocery kits. From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together at a local restaurant. Free snacks and drinks provided for all volunteers. If you'd like to be a super volunteer, contact us about showing up at 10am to help with early setup! **Food:** Snacks will be provided free for volunteers. We also usually buy lunch for everyone. After the event volunteers usually gather at a local restaurant to debrief. **Safety:** Safety vests, gloves, and masks are available for all volunteers. Septemeber Kind Steps LA Event

SEPTEMEBER MEET UP INFORMATION! Hi everyone! Our next Kind Steps LA event is coming up ❤️ •When: Saturday, September 5 •Time: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM •Meeting location: Lafayette Park •Address: 625 S. La Fayette Park Place, Los Angeles, CA 90057 Enter this exact address into Google Maps. We will meet at the picnic tables near the Lafayette Multipurpose Community Center. Look for the Kind Steps LA sign and our sandwich-making supplies. Street parking is available nearby, but please arrive early to allow time to park. If you cannot find us, message me in the WhatsApp group. This month, we’ll be making turkey and cheese sandwiches. We’ll also assemble care packages with snacks, water, hygiene products, and other useful items. Afterward, we’ll walk in smaller groups to distribute everything. Kind Steps LA depends entirely on donations and what our volunteers contribute. If you can bring any sandwich supplies, such as bread, turkey, cheese, sandwich bags, or disposable gloves, please let the group know what you’re bringing so we can coordinate. You’re also welcome to bring bottled water, individually packaged snacks, socks, or new and unopened hygiene products. Please don’t bring opened or previously used personal care products. If you would rather contribute financially because you’re busy or it’s easier for you then no problem! Great class for all levels from beginner to advanced. Teacher Bio: Kirstin H.S. completed her 200 hour YTT in Ubud,Bali with Zuna Yoga in 2019. She loves providing space to practitioners to take time for themselves and just simply breathe. Through “flow” yoga, Kirstin hopes to give a small reprieve to the anxious and stressful world we live in. Kirstin has been practicing yoga since 2004 and has learned the importance of yoga in cultivating balance, strength, and overall well-being. She loves sharing her knowledge and practice with others, especially those who are new to yoga. Kirstin loves teaching the Heal One World community and empowering her students to achieve their own greatness. Vegan Foodbank Volunteer Day (Distributing Day)

The Vegans of LA Foodbank needs volunteers to help distribute food on this day. We are manadated by the LA county health dept to wear masks. Please arrive no later than 7:45am so that we can start on time and get our community back home and safe. You will be standing the entire time and directly interacting with over 300 individuals outside in a semi-fast paced but friendly environment.
