West L.A. Belly Dance Showcase Community Celebration

Join us for a warm, cozy, and intimate evening celebrating dance, creativity, and community. Reservior Hike

Come join us for a loop walk around the reservoir by Watershed Park, we will start at the JPL parking lot (at our usual spot), then walk thru the park, across Devils Gate dam and then circle back up again, getting a good look at all the water now in the reservoir and ponds! **Park and meet at the JPL parking lot, WATCH THE VIDEO LINK below to see where we park!** A few notes: This is a group hike that ***stays together*** as we hike. We wait for people to catch up, we don't split into separate groups with one moving faster than the other. If this group doesn't move fast enough for you, please find another that suits you better. It's a wider area than you can go on foot for the whole area. So there are shuttles on multiple routes that will loop the city. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest. The festival has a long history dating back more than 2,000 years and is centered around themes of family reunion, togetherness, gratitude, and wishing for happiness and prosperity. One of the most beloved traditions is sharing mooncakes, a round pastry symbolizing completeness and family unity. Let's go square dancing in North Hollywood! ($20-25) \- Live Band: Whole Hog \- Caller: Kristen Studard Never square danced? Don't worry... all dances are taught. Fun guaranteed! No partner necessary, this is social dancing :) Everyone willing to participate is welcome! Bring your friends -- the more the square-ier! Straight and LGBTQIA+ friendly. We'll meet up inside by the "The Mayflower Club" wall mural (see photos below) at 7pm. We will walk around the haunted hayride to check it out. Walk is easy walk less than 1 mile. We are NOT going on the rides or inside. We will walk on trail that goes around it. They usually charge for parking so tell them you are here for a hike and not a customer of the ride. We will meet in front of the merry go round. We will wait 15 or so minutes.
