Join us for an educational workshop created specifically for new Realtors who want to better understand how the real estate business works beyond the licensing exam. This session will cover many of the practical questions new agents ask as they begin their careers, including: • How do I find my first clients? • What happens after I meet my first buyer or seller? • Choosing the right brokerage for your professional goals There will also be time for questions, discussion, and networking with other new real estate professionals. This workshop is educational in nature and is intended to help attendees better understand the real estate profession. **Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served.** ## Our Community The Southern California New Realtor Network is more than a workshop series. Our goal is to create a welcoming community where newly licensed real estate professionals can meet others entering the industry, exchange ideas, ask questions, and continue learning together. Throughout his career, he has mentored and educated thousands of real estate professionals and frequently speaks on topics related to the housing market, professional development, and the real estate industry. He holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Caltech and an MS in Applied Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, along with an Executive MBA from the Drucker School. His career spans NASA/JPL, Fortune 500 companies, and venture-backed startups across domains including semiconductor materials, advanced coatings, thermal systems, sensors, and medical devices. On the business side, he has negotiated more than 25 transactions—including licensing agreements, research partnerships, and M&A—with organizations such as MIT, KAIST, Kyocera, Infineon, the DOE, and DARPA. He co-founded Pacific Scanning Corp (acquired by Agilent Technologies) and was part of the leadership team behind a successful exit at iGlass Technology. He currently contributes to strategic investment initiatives in medical innovation and serves on the boards of multiple startups. He is the author of 30+ U.S. patents.
Cantonese Parents Meetup #5
Sun, Aug 9, 10:30 PMHi! Let's get together for a Summer park hang! We'll plan for Vista Hermosa park again, which I feel like despite attempted efforts, we haven't actually been back to since our first gathering! The area closer to the park's **West entrance** is shady. We'll set up under the trees. Hope to see you guys there! Bring any Canto books, toys or resources you might want to share with the group. Picnic blanket recommended but no fret if you show up without one. **1 RSVP per family** Whether or not you're bringing your fam, please RSVP for just yourself to leave space for others to RSVP (we're capped by Meetup to 10 RSVP guests). **How my personal journey is going:** My daughter is now 2, and extremely talkative. She mostly speaks in English but will say random things in Cantonese. She can say most of the colors in Canto (purple and yellow she gets stuck on for some reason) and even if she doesn't necessarily say them, she knows her body parts and animals in Canto. I consider this to be a mild miracle considering how often I (don't) speak to her in Cantonese (a mix of my own Canto limitations, and my perceived ability for her to understand instructions/respond to me when I say more unfamiliar things in Canto). Let's all support and encourage each other and our kids! **Intentions:** * Create a fun, friendly, and supportive community * Improve each other's Cantonese by providing more opportunities to speak and learn - both for parents and kids * Bond with other Cantonese-speaking parents (or non-Canto parents trying to learn) and share the joys and challenges of trying to raise Cantonese-speaking humans * Normalize Cantonese for our kids by creating a place where other kids also speak Cantonese * Promote Cantonese language and culture, and both surface and serve the Canto-speaking community scattered throughout LA * Share tips and Canto resources **If you can't make this date/time, but are interested in the group, please message me.
