Ride leader Janet Joy Wilson will be back in NYC in October! Let’s have a Brompton "Joy Ride" from Lower Manhattan to Valentino Pier in Red Hook to enjoy the night sky and reconnect with much-missed Janet! This is a 11-mile social ride at a slow pace, **for Brompton bicycles only**. **DETAILS** We’ll meet at the base of the Christopher Street Pier on the Hudson Greenway. We’ll depart at approximately 6:20PM after 20 minutes of socializing. At the meeting point there are restrooms for us to use. The route is on a paved, comfortable bike path, with little traffic. We'll cross the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn and cruise along the waterfront towards our goal, enjoying spectacular views of the tip of Manhattan. At Valentino Pier, we will have a break to have some of Steve's Key Lime Pies - a New York classic and very fun. We'll hang out to socialize a bit before we go on the second, shorter part of the ride. This will lead us to into DUMBO, Brooklyn. We will have a small After Party with Janet on our rooftop terrace with the wonderful views off the Manhattan skyline to round off the glorious evening. **RIDE LEVEL:** Chill / Relaxed Pace: 16 kmh / 10 mph Distance: 11-12 miles Everyone is welcome, no one will be left behind. **WHAT TO BRING** * Since we will be riding back in the dark, lights are required * Please ensure your tires are inflated and your bike is in good working order * Spare inner tube in case of flats - everyone should bring this **PLEASE MAINTAIN YOUR RSVP!** If you can’t attend, please update your RSVP so someone from the waiting list can have your spot. Riders with a history of “no shows” may be removed from the ride in favor of others on the waiting list. **Happy Riding!** \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Our Community Rules: 1. **Summits And Sips** Imagine finally treating yourself to a girls’ weekend. Only instead of sitting on someone’s living room floor fielding texts from your partner (“WHERE IS MY PRESCRIPTION NASAL SPRAY”) you’re hiking the Appalachian Trail. Eating picnics you didn’t have to pack. And tossing back Virginia wine with women who make you laugh until a you pee a little. Trade the daily hustle for mountain magic with the ultimate long weekend hiking in Shenandoah National Park. This is a more laid-back hiking adventure––active without being hardcore. We’ll explore sections of the Appalachian Trail by day, including Mary’s Rock, Whiteoak Canyon, and Hawksbill Mountain. And we’ll savor golden sunset hikes to Bearfence and Stony Man before our evening PJ parties. Our SHE-nanigan Shuttle will be conveniently parked to save us from sweary uphill climbs, whisking us away to our trailheads, an afternoon wine tasting, and our picturesque lodges with local, chef-made meals. This much beauty and sisterhood in one long weekend will feel illegal. But we promise the park rangers won’t kick us out. **See the website for full itinerary, details and to book.** [https://explorerchick.com/trip/womens-shenandoah-hiking-winery-and-sunsets-weekend/](https://explorerchick.com/trip/womens-shenandoah-hiking-winery-and-sunsets-weekend/) **Say Hello 👋** **💻** Website: [https://explorerchick.com/](https://explorerchick.com/) 📧 Email: [hello@explorerchick.com](http://hello@explorerchick.com/) 📸 Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/](https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/) ❤️ Facebook: [https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/](https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/) 👯‍♀️ Facebook Group: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick](https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick) 🎥 TikTok: [https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick](https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick)
