Gays Can Read: Books & Booze Happy Hour

Thu, Aug 6, 4:30 PM
From Gays Can Read: Barcelona

**Do you love reading? Would you like a drink? *Let’s do both!*** I bet you’ve read some *fabulous* books this summer. And as Gay Nerds, we *love* telling others about a 5-star find because we don’t gate-keep, especially when we have a cocktail (or soft drink) in hand! **So let’s grab drinks at LaCarra (C/d Muntaner 34), on 6 AUG at 18:30 (6:30pm) and share our favorite reads of the year so far!** We can get excited about mutual favorites, debate controversial picks, and walk away with a list of recommendations. Not bad for a Thursday night!

If you haven’t read the book but still want to join, you’re welcome to come. Spoiler alert: we may discuss the ending 😀 **About** **us:** We are a new, small book club exploring a variety of genres and authors in coffee places across Barcelona. We come from different backgrounds, and our discussions are in English. However, you may read in any language. We value thoughtful conversations, a relaxed atmosphere, and inclusivity.

We are Stardust. How Bowie’s gift of Sound & Vision dared us to be different.

We are Stardust. How Bowie’s gift of Sound & Vision dared us to be different.

From the late 1960s to the early 1980s David Bowie’s created an opening in pop culture (and arguably the wider society) for us to be a little weirder - and a bit truer to ourselves. Mike Stone takes a highly subjective look at Bowie’s music from this period and selective film work to explore how he infiltrated the mainstream and influenced - everyone. Including frank discussions of gender, sexuality, drugs and other essentials of the 70s rock-n-roll lifestyle, this presentation is not for the faint-hearted. If you think you’re gonna make it, you’d better hang onto yourself. Bring wine/beer/drinks/food/snacks/whatever to share. **Our events fill up very quickly. To avoid missing out on future events, join the WhatsApp group via this link:** [https://tally.so/r/w4G5L5](https://tally.so/r/w4G5L5) Press the buzzer marked Semi sotano 2 to be let in. It's down the stairs, first door on the right.
