We are Stardust. How Bowie’s gift of Sound & Vision dared us to be different.
Fri, Jul 31, 5:00 PMFrom the late 1960s to the early 1980s David Bowie’s created an opening in pop culture (and arguably the wider society) for us to be a little weirder - and a bit truer to ourselves. Mike Stone takes a highly subjective look at Bowie’s music from this period and selective film work to explore how he infiltrated the mainstream and influenced - everyone. Including frank discussions of gender, sexuality, drugs and other essentials of the 70s rock-n-roll lifestyle, this presentation is not for the faint-hearted. If you think you’re gonna make it, you’d better hang onto yourself. Bring wine/beer/drinks/food/snacks/whatever to share. **Our events fill up very quickly.
