Comics & Conversation
Mon, Aug 17, 11:00 PM**Comics & Conversation** is a relaxed meetup with dedicated time to read comics, followed by time to hear from those in the industry, and socialize with other fans. Bring whatever you’re currently reading, or finally crack open something that’s been sitting in your backlog. After reading, we’ll have optional group activities like pitching a favorite recent series or comic, casual group discussions, and occasional book swaps and special guests. There’s no pressure to speak, perform, or know everything, just hang out and enjoy comics with other people who are into them. Before the meetup, feel free to stop by our partner shop right across the street, **Action City Comics**, to grab something new to read or browse their excellent selection.

WTF (Weekly Tuesday Folders)
Tue, Aug 4, 10:30 PM**NEW LOCATION:** OMG NYC (Origami Meetup Group! New York City) is a group for people to come together and share in the beautiful art of Origami - an ancient art of folding various mediums, most commonly paper. The word comes from the combination of the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). Other materials often folded are fabric, wire mesh, sheet metal, tissue, thin plastic, cardboard, and straws. We meet as a group to teach each other new models and share paper, books, and tips. This meeting is free and open to all level of folders from beginners to advanced. There will be free paper available to share. You can bring your own paper and books, so you can just show up and fold! If you have models you would like to learn, or teach, let us know and we will try our best to accommodate. OMG NYC's WTF (Weekly Tuesday Folders) meetup is now located at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library at 455 5th Avenue. The meeting is on the 3rd floor in room 303. Registration is strongly recommended. You can go to the website [bit.ly/omgorigami](bit.ly/omgorigami) and register for the date you will be attending. Seating is limited so those who register for the event are given priority. Food is not allowed in this library except on the 7th floor. Covered drinks are allowed. The library policy for this meetup is that it is for adults only.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Tue, Aug 4, 10:30 PMThe modern **Tom Holland Spider-Man franchise** has built **one of the most exalted legacies in cinematic history.** **Let’s not forget that the third Spider-Man movie, \*Spider-Man: No Way Home\*, didn’t just break records—it completely shattered them, grossing over $1.92 billion globally to secure its position as the 8th highest-grossing movie of all time.** It was a cultural phenomenon that proved superhero narratives can achieve transcendent theatrical synergy when done right. Now, **the justified hysteria for this fourth installment, Spider-Man: Brand New Day**, has reached absolute fever pitch. The narrative grounds Peter Parker in a gritty, isolated New York City where the world has entirely forgotten who he is, forcing him to fight full-time as a friendly neighborhood hero under immense psychological pressure. **Critics are already signaling that this is the creative renaissance the MCU has been building toward. \*Fandango\* reported on the sheer scale of the advance ticket hype, stating, "The fervor for 'Brand New Day' is matching, if not exceeding, the madness of 'No Way Home.' Audiences are clawing for tickets to bear witness to Peter Parker's darkest, most pivotal chapter yet."** **Collider** wrote: **"The hysteria is completely justified. 'Brand New Day' strips away the multiversal safety nets to deliver a raw, emotionally heavy, and breathtakingly choreographed Spider-Man story that fans will be talking about for decades."** And **Entertainment Weekly** exclaimed regarding **stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day**: **"Seeing Hollywood's definitive power couple anchor two of the summer's most gargantuan blockbusters right as they confirm their real-life marriage is a historic crossover event. Their off-screen bedrock translates into a rare, transcendent on-screen magic that elevates both projects into must-see cultural milestones."** **Trailer:** https://youtu.be/daXaTug8rL4 **Purchase on AMC:** https://www.amctheatres.com/showtimes/144187432/seats **First, join AMC Stubs Insider for free, in order to purchase "Discount Tuesday" tickets for $12.93 (including the ticketing fee), and for other benefits:** [https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs/insider](https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs/insider) **How to purchase tickets for $12.93:** **1.** Go to AMC Stubs Insider ( [https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs/insider](https://www.amctheatres.com/amcstubs/insider) ), and click the "Join Now" button.
