​Do you love animals? Join local activists for the **Animal Victory Meetup**, a weekly space in Los Angeles to connect, organize, and take action. ​Together with activists from local and international advocacy groups, we’ll build community, share skills, and strategize on campaigns. Each meetup is followed by a high-impact action! ​This meetup is open to anyone interested in helping animals, regardless of experience level or diet. Atheists Volunteer FOOD DISTRIBUTION! Come help and give out food!

[Atheists United](www.atheistsunited.org), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, is fighting the emergency food crisis with our partners [Sunday Assembly Los Angeles](www.sundayassemblyla.com) by hosting a food distribution in Los Angeles outside our offices. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and give out over 3,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us assemble and organize food packages from 12pm - 5pm every third Friday.** From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together. Music and snacks will make it well worth your time. Garden Maintenance Day

Join us for a day of giving back to the community with Pasadena Rotary. We will be helping to maintain a garden at one of our local schools. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring your own water, and bring work gloves if you have them. Whether you are interested in learning more about Nonprofit organizations, want to get involved in Community Outreach programs, or simply enjoy volunteering for a good cause, this is the perfect event for you. Rooftop Trivia Thursdays

Join us for trivia each Thursday evening on our rooftop terrace! This event is hosted by King Trivia, free to play, includes first place prizes. All are welcome. Enjoy a sensational view of jets landing at LAX under our beautiful shade canopy. Our food has been featured on the Michelin Guide since opening, and our cocktail and wine lists have received awards from PUNCH and Wine Spectator, respectively. Walk for Peace

Peace Builders of Orange County is pleased to join Whittier First Friends Church for a community Peace Walk on **Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.** This event is an opportunity to focus on inner calm, compassion, and nonviolence. It is not a protest, but a visual expression of goodwill and peace for our community and around the world. **Event Schedule** * **3:00 p.m.** Poster-making with peace-focused messages * * **3:30 p.m.** Gathering at the meetinghouse peace pole for a brief talk about peace, walk instructions, and sing together. * * **4:00 p.m.** Silent Peace Walk from the meetinghouse to the City Hall peace pole. * * We will progress up Philadelphia to Painter Avenue, and continue on Painter to City Hall, gathering at the peace pole located there. At the city hall peace pole we will hold a time of silence and then conclude with a song. Participants will then be invited to process back to the meetinghouse along Painter together. * Please note: Water and safety monitors will be provided. The walk is 1 mile. Peace Builders of Orange County encourages all who support peace, compassion, and understanding to participate. Community Habitat Restoration event at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook

Join us for a habitat restoration event! It’s a great opportunity to learn about native plants and local wildlife, all while spending some time outdoors in beautiful Baldwin Hills Parklands. This event is in partnership with California State Parks Foundation. Spaces are limited, so if you are interested in participating, **please RSVP to the coordinator at least 24hours in advance of the event: amendiaperez@naturenexusinstitute.org** Important things to know about this event: * Volunteers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Habitat restoration tasks are best suited for people who are 12 years of age or older. * Please wear long pants and covered shoes. * Please bring plenty of drinking water for yourself as well as ample sun protection. * Work sites are frequently off trail and may be on uneven terrain. * We typically meet up at the top parking lot adjacent to the visitor center to start the event, but we work in several sites throughout the park. If you arrive late you may have trouble finding us. Please be sure to RSVP via the email above so we know to expect you!

Vegan Foodbank Volunteer Day (Distributing Day)

The Vegans of LA Foodbank needs volunteers to help distribute food on this day. We are manadated by the LA county health dept to wear masks. Please arrive no later than 7:45am so that we can start on time and get our community back home and safe.
