⛰️ Hiking Snowdon – The Highest Mountain in Wales (Final Trip of the Season)
Sat, Oct 10, 5:45 AM################# **Join us for our final Snowdonia trip of 2026 and conquer Snowdon – the highest peak in Wales (1,085m)! We'll travel by private minibus, so places are limited to 14 – book early.** **We’ve created a list of [FAQs](https://drive.google.com/file/d/12gIZWTLfA3zQsx1fb0lpv1zOWP2vC5tq/view?usp=drive_link) to help answer your questions.** ################# Spend a weekend in North Wales enjoying some of the best mountain and coastal scenery Wales has to offer! Departing London early on Saturday morning, we'll head to **Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales**, at an elevation of 1085 metres above sea level. Starting from **Pen-y-Pass mountain pass**, we'll climb Snowdon via the **Pyg Track**, which offers one of the most popular and scenic routes to the summit. On our way, we'll enjoy exceptional views of the beautiful **glacial lakes of Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn**, dramatic cliffs and the surrounding peaks of the Snowdon Massif mountain range. The descent is via the **Miners' Track**. It's so called as it was originally built to serve the Britannia Copper Mine on the slopes of Snowdon. After an initial steep descent, we'll follow an easy and gradual downhill path along the shores of beautiful lakes, past the historic mine buildings. After the hike, we'll drive to our hotel on the Isle of Anglesey, where we'll have dinner and rest. On Sunday, we'll explore one of the most scenic stretches of the **Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path**. After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we'll take a short drive to the **South Stack Cliffs Nature Reserve**. We'll follow a dramatic clifftop trail to the small rocky islands of South Stack and North Stack, and visit the South Stack Lighthouse – one of Wales' most photographed lighthouses. During this walk, we'll also ascend **Holyhead Mountain**, the highest point of the Isle of Anglesey. Despite its small height of 220 metres, it has a true mountain feel and offers stunning panoramic views over the bustling Holyhead Harbour and Snowdonia mountains. Our hike will finish at the beautiful sandy beach of Porth Dafarch, from where we'll head to Trearddur Bay for lunch. **ITINERARY** **Saturday:** **06:45** Meet outside Hotel Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, W6 8DR (a five-minute walk from Hammersmith Station) **07:00** Sharp departure **12:30-18:30** Hike to Snowdon via the Pyg and Miners' Tracks (difficulty: [Difficult](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BMjvqhAAdSeCdyzLPHs0z04_e2TiKdci/view?usp=sharing), distance: 12km, ascent: 810m) **19:30** Check-in at Premier Inn Holyhead Hotel on the Isle of Anglesey, dinner and free time **Sunday:** **07:00** Breakfast **08:00** Departure **08:15-12:45** Clifftop hike to the islands of South Stack and North Stack via Holyhead Mountain and the South Stack Lighthouse (difficulty: [Moderate](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BMjvqhAAdSeCdyzLPHs0z04_e2TiKdci/view?usp=sharing), distance: 12km, ascent: 330m) **13:00-14:30** Lunch at the award-winning Trearddur Bay Beach, free time by the sea **14:30** Departure **21:00** London, Hammersmith **DIFFICULTY & EQUIPMENT** Please note that this trip requires a good level of fitness. For centuries, Snowdon has captured the imagination of explorers, hikers, photographers, and adventurers. According to Welsh legend, the summit is said to be the resting place of the giant Rhitta Gawr, adding a rich layer of mythology to this spectacular mountain. On a clear day, breathtaking panoramic views stretch across Wales, Ireland, England, and the Irish Sea. 🏔️ Snowdonia National Park is one of Britain's most beautiful wilderness areas, featuring rugged mountains, dramatic ridges, crystal-clear lakes, ancient forests, waterfalls, and some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. This Bank Holiday weekend we will be taking on TWO completely different routes up Mount Snowdon, giving participants the opportunity to experience the mountain from two unique perspectives. Each route offers stunning scenery, incredible viewpoints, fantastic photography opportunities, and a genuine sense of achievement.
