Join us in Richmond Park during rutting season to capture some dramatic photography whilst it is rutting season. There are a variety of wildlife to photograph including the majestic Red and Fallow deer. We will also be on the lookout for other wildlife subjects including brightly coloured ring-necked parakeets and green woodpeckers. There is a magical place not too far from good old London where the colours of the trees seem straight out of a fairy tale, it will allow us to take the most gorgeous pictures both mental and physical, a trip that I could make many times and never get tired of. The hike will take us through stunning woodlands, villages and in places straight out of a book from the Grimm brothers Red, yellow, green, orange, all these colours will charm us. Take your lover, meet one or just enjoy the nature with our awesome hikers, whatever the reason, this is a pretty place that I will teach you to love. This hike will have a couple of hills and is a bit longer than my usual ones and will feature tons of varied landscapes and views to remember. This is a remodeling of one of my first ever hikes in the UK. If the public right of way is still open, we might even have a peak for free at the Winkworth A rboretum (The owner has been trying to close the public right of way for many years and as I haven't been in4 years, I cannot promise access, but nevertheless, we will have a try. The rest of the hike though is an absolute stunner, you will see so many different landscapes and types of woodlands that you can only fall in love with it! As always, you will have the opportunity to grab some food in a nice restaurant in Godalming after the trip. PLEASE HAVE WATERPROOF SHOES WITH A GOOD GRIP, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO THIS HIKE WITH TRAINERS AS IT WILL GET REALLY MUDDY. **WHAT TO EXPECT - Dramatic hill-top views, secluded valleys and woodland** Distance: **25km (approx 15 miles)** Ascent: c. **570m** Estimated Duration (approx): **6 hours walking** (4km/hr) Difficulty: Moderate to energetic Group size: 20 hikers **HIGHLIGHT** * An undulating hike through the little known western reaches of the South Downs. * Lovely quaint pub for a stop at lunchtime * Stunning 360-degree panoramic views on top of National Trust's Harting Down * Significant views out to the Solent and the Isle of Wight * Deer parks in the later part of the walk * Some beautiful quintessentially English countryside at its best **DESCRIPTION** We'll be walking in part on the South Downs Way, as well as lesser known paths steeped in history. Our day will start in Petersfield - an ancient market town founded in the early 12th century which became a horse coaching centre on the main London to Portsmouth route. We'll then head to Buriton, a lovely historic village just south of Peterfield. From there we will start heading up onto the South Downs Way and then down to South Harting, which sits at the foot of the beautiful South Downs. It is home to one of the major landmarks in the Rother Valley - St Mary and Gabriel Church. This will be our lunch stop at a quaint old pub. We'll be walking off our lunch with a steep climb up onto Harting Down - a stunning 360-degree viewpoint where the higher ground of West Harting Down provides significant views out to the Solent and the Isle of Wight should we have fine weather. We then circle back to Petersfield over fields and along deer park enclosures, with no other hikers in sight. And of course, a well earned drink in a pub in Petersfield! *ps. Departing London early on Saturday morning, we'll head to **Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales**, at an elevation of 1085 metres above sea level. Starting from **Pen-y-Pass mountain pass**, we'll climb Snowdon via the **Pyg Track**, which offers one of the most popular and scenic routes to the summit. On our way, we'll enjoy exceptional views of the beautiful **glacial lakes of Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn**, dramatic cliffs and the surrounding peaks of the Snowdon Massif mountain range. The descent is via the **Miners' Track**. It's so called as it was originally built to serve the Britannia Copper Mine on the slopes of Snowdon. After an initial steep descent, we'll follow an easy and gradual downhill path along the shores of beautiful lakes, past the historic mine buildings. After the hike, we'll drive to our hotel on the Isle of Anglesey, where we'll have dinner and rest. On Sunday, we'll explore one of the most scenic stretches of the **Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path**. After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we'll take a short drive to the **South Stack Cliffs Nature Reserve**. We'll follow a dramatic clifftop trail to the small rocky islands of South Stack and North Stack, and visit the South Stack Lighthouse – one of Wales' most photographed lighthouses. During this walk, we'll also ascend **Holyhead Mountain**, the highest point of the Isle of Anglesey. Despite its small height of 220 metres, it has a true mountain feel and offers stunning panoramic views over the bustling Holyhead Harbour and Snowdonia mountains.
