There is a magical place not too far from good old London where the colours of the trees seem straight out of a fairy tale, it will allow us to take the most gorgeous pictures both mental and physical, a trip that I could make many times and never get tired of. The hike will take us through stunning woodlands, villages and in places straight out of a book from the Grimm brothers Red, yellow, green, orange, all these colours will charm us. Take your lover, meet one or just enjoy the nature with our awesome hikers, whatever the reason, this is a pretty place that I will teach you to love. This hike will have a couple of hills and is a bit longer than my usual ones and will feature tons of varied landscapes and views to remember. This is a remodeling of one of my first ever hikes in the UK. If the public right of way is still open, we might even have a peak for free at the Winkworth A rboretum (The owner has been trying to close the public right of way for many years and as I haven't been in4 years, I cannot promise access, but nevertheless, we will have a try. The rest of the hike though is an absolute stunner, you will see so many different landscapes and types of woodlands that you can only fall in love with it! As always, you will have the opportunity to grab some food in a nice restaurant in Godalming after the trip. PLEASE HAVE WATERPROOF SHOES WITH A GOOD GRIP, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO THIS HIKE WITH TRAINERS AS IT WILL GET REALLY MUDDY. You will learn about the tools required for carving, the types of wood and techniques for carving and finishing a simple wooden bird. By following a step-by-step process of carving a 3D object, from the selection of a suitable wood to the final stages of sanding and finishing. Participants will gain knowledge of carving techniques of carving in the round. The course will be taught by experienced woodworker Jon Hall who will provide personalised guidance to everyone, and give them tips and tricks to improve their carving skills. At the end of the day, learners will have a finished wooden bird that they can be proud of and can display in their homes or give as a gift. No prior experience in carving or woodworking is required for this course. Beginners welcome. Departing London early on Saturday morning, we'll head to **Snowdon – the highest mountain in Wales**, at an elevation of 1085 metres above sea level. Starting from **Pen-y-Pass mountain pass**, we'll climb Snowdon via the **Pyg Track**, which offers one of the most popular and scenic routes to the summit. On our way, we'll enjoy exceptional views of the beautiful **glacial lakes of Llyn Llydaw and Glaslyn**, dramatic cliffs and the surrounding peaks of the Snowdon Massif mountain range. The descent is via the **Miners' Track**. It's so called as it was originally built to serve the Britannia Copper Mine on the slopes of Snowdon. After an initial steep descent, we'll follow an easy and gradual downhill path along the shores of beautiful lakes, past the historic mine buildings. After the hike, we'll drive to our hotel on the Isle of Anglesey, where we'll have dinner and rest. On Sunday, we'll explore one of the most scenic stretches of the **Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path**. After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we'll take a short drive to the **South Stack Cliffs Nature Reserve**. The **Seven Sisters** are a spectacular series of gleaming white chalk cliffs shaped over thousands of years by natural erosion processes. Erosion has since created an “eighth sister,” and today the cliffs stand as one of England’s most iconic landscapes. We begin in the coastal town of **Seaford**, home to a Napoleonic-era **Martello Tower** built in 1810 as part of a chain of 103 coastal defences against French invasion. From here, the trail climbs onto the cliff tops, where for much of the day we walk high above the sea, treated to endless coastal views and fresh sea air. Our route follows the **South Downs Way**, passing through **Birling Gap** and past the striking **Belle Tout Lighthouse**, famously moved 17 metres inland in 1999 to save it from falling into the sea. The final highlight is **Beachy Head**, a dramatic beauty spot with sheer chalk cliffs dropping into the sea below. Autumn Shades in Darwin's Back Yard: a walk around Farnborough, Cudham and Downe

10 mile circular walk from Farnborough Village to Cudham then Single Street, Luxted, Downe and back to Farnborough Village, taking in part of High Elms Country Park. We'll traverse several picturesque woods and fields with a few steep uphill / downhills as we criss-cross local valleys. Please wear stout walking shoes or preferably boots to protect your ankles over rocky paths and tree roots and bring a picnic lunch for midway. We’ll aim to stop for refreshments at one of the two pubs and a cafe in Downe towards the end on the way back - and maybe enjoy a survivors reunion back in Farnborough Village. There are public toilets in Cudham and High Elms. Well behaved dogs are welcome if agreed with the walk leader in advance and they will need to be on lead for short stretches of road and around livestock. This area is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone so consider car-sharing if your jalopy isn’t ULEZ compliant. NB: **There is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers Assoc. members** to help cover our Meetup costs. Please help the walk leader by **bringing the exact change**.Ramblers members are welcome on any of our walks, but we would still encourage you to RSVP on Meetup. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Ramblers member, you can attend - just let the walk leader know you are coming by adding a comment '*Coming as a Rambler*'.
