Cooperative games fighting horrible diseases. Classic euro games where you haggle over sheep and wheat. Whether you want to fight unspeakable horrors in Arkham or build railroads across America or rebuild your farm after the black plague (more fun than it sounds) you can probably find a game you would like. Some games you might see are 7 Wonders, Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Dominion, Dixit, Puerto Rico, Eldritch Horror, Ticket to Ride, Carcasonne among many others. Tabletop Game Night

Every Saturday night we run Games With Strangers. Grab a drink or dinner, meet some new people, and learn a new game. Our game expert will teach you our featured games for the night and introduce you to your fellow players. We run games of all levels, from the lightest of the light to the ones that need four hours and a book. Each week we feature two games. Run a kingdom, build a farm, assemble your heroes, or craft the best story, but, whatever you do, come do it with us.

Afternoon of Board Games @ Crowne Plaza, Saddle Brook

Setting up weekly afternoons of games at the Crowne Plaza (50 Kenny Pl.) in Saddle Brook at 2.30pm. Everyone is welcome whether you’re a casual player, an avid player or simply want to start learning something new. We teach, we learn, we play. Typical games played (but not limited to): Hues and Cues, Wingspan, 7 Wonders, Camel Up, Dixit, Splendor, Catan. * **Date:** Every Sunday * **Time:** 2:30 to 6:30pm * **Location:** Crowne Plaza (50 Kenny Pl.) in Saddle Brook; there’s parking on all sides of the building. Where we play in the hotel pends on the space given to us by the hotel event staff. We, usually, play on the 12th floor of the hotel at their Sky Restaurant & Bar **BUT** sometimes we are on the 2nd floor. When in doubt, **stay in the lobby** and wait for the event host to comment where exactly we are playing. * **RSVP:** Please RSVP by each Sunday afternoon (and/or have it updated since it helps us with the tables and picking the right games). Tell the cashier that you're with “the Meetup” and they'll direct you to our tables in the back. Food and drink are available, and Hex has a large lending library you can choose from. Is this group for me?** Hi! Welcome to board gaming! Yes, it is. To make sure you have a great experience, please show up on time, before games get decided, and introduce yourself, telling people you’re new to gaming and what games you know and like. We were all new to gaming once, too. While most games we play are medium-to-heavy weight games, light games appear every week, so there's probably something for you. If you’re willing to stretch a bit and learn a more complex game, that’s great, as someone will almost always know how to teach it. To find out if players are willing to teach a game they’re about to start, just ask. Some experience with games like Azul, Catan, Splendor, Century Spice Road, 7 Wonders, Sagrada, etc., is helpful, but not essential. **What if I am on the waiting list?** It is rare that people on the waiting don't get seats, but it can happen. So you could just take a chance and show up. If you do show up, 1) ask employees up front if you can wait to pay (they're typically cool about that, but no promises here /shrug) and 2) come check in with us in the back. Seats for confirmed guests are held until 5:15, after which they're considered a no-show. (Unless they contact us first, or had something like an awful train ride.) Then seats are first-come first served. **Will someone teach me games if I don’t know them?** Often, yes - you just have to ask. But planning ahead can be helpful too, because that’ll give you a chance to read the rules before you come. **What do you mean by mid- and heavy-weight board games?** Some examples: Hansa Teutonica, Concordia, Keyflower, Great Western Trail, Clank!, Root, Small World, Scythe, Dinosaur Island, Terraforming Mars, Trickerion: Legends of Illusion, Kemet, Arcs, Underwater Cities, Food Chain Magnate, Indonesia, A Feast for Odin, Archipelago, Detective: City of Angels, and Tzolk'in. **Can we play *X*?** Sure! Suggest it. Make sure someone has a playable copy (you or the store), either you or someone else knows and can teach the game, and others agree to play. Games that take an exceedingly long time (4+ hours) probably won’t get picked up.

Games we play: party, social deduction, strategy, euro. There's usually plenty of games around, but feel free to bring your own. It's very important to support our hosts in opening up their place for us. We ask you to purchase a beverage from them. They have a great drink selection to choose from. Great food options in the area and that we're allowed to bring in! If you arrive late and games have already begun, the wait for a new game shouldn't be long.
