🎉 We’re excited to announce a brand new CBD venue for Melbourne Chess Society! Join us on Wednesday, 12 August, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Oche Melbourne (263 Bourke Street) for another evening of social chess. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced players – there’ll always be someone to challenge. We’ll be playing on the top level of Oche, a fantastic venue with great food, drinks, and complimentary dart boards available for chess players to enjoy throughout the evening. As this is a smaller, more intimate space, attendance will be capped at 80 people. To help us manage numbers, please register via Meetup (it’s free). Hey friends, please join us for our Meet and Geek at Pixel! We run this event every four weeks and it's a great opportunity to meet new people, play some games, and have some fun. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to seeing you all there! * **About the event:** Perfect if you're a solo gamer looking to make friends, or if you've never been to a Meet Up before! It's a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where you can comfortably meet people and play games socially. There's a variety of games and player experience at all levels. * **Bring your own favourite game(s)!** There is a great selection of games provided by Pixel, but we encourage people to bring their own as well! If you don't have any, no dramas! Just join a table and learn a new game with help from our friendly community. * **Starting at 7pm and ending about 10pm** at Pixel Bar and Cafe. They have kindly let us use their space, so please show your support to this great venue by buying a drink or two (non-alcoholic options available!). Board Game Night at Marché

Whether you're looking for a short, light game or a longer strategy-heavy game, come join the Melbourne Asian Board Gamers on Tuesday night at Marché Board Game Cafe for some fun! To **check in**, please head to the front counter and show your RSVP for the Meetup event to a Marché staff member. They will then point you towards the event host for the evening to take down your attendance. **⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ Cost ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆** Attendees who have registered for the event on Meetup can play at discounted rates, with the following payments to be made: * **$7 in total per session” to cover Meetup subscription and cafe costs. Payment of $7 should be made to Marche at the front counter upon notification to the staff member that you are here for the scheduled meetup. FOR NEWBIES - THERE IS AN INTERNAL MESSENGER SYSTEM SO PLS CHECK ANY MESSAGES BEFORE A MEET \*\*GAMES START AT 6.30PM\*\* @marche boardgame cafe (there are roadworks blocking some paths at A'Becket so google a route. **WEDNESDAY DEAL - by Marche $6 tickets deal for our Wednesday group !** We will put this as a regular monthly (sometimes f/nightly) meet up on the calendar. You can pay $6 on arrival either have cash ready or tap and pay. we don't need to do the full 3 hours but if we are having fun can stay on **IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION** \- Some roads/pathways are blocked near Marche so google for easy detours\. Capping numbers as don't want it too crazy particularly for anyone who is noise and small space sensitive\. BoardCon 2026!

In collaboration with Knox Board Game Club, we are proud to bring you the 2nd annual **BoardCon**! Last year was a big success with many people and many, many games. BoardCon is a one day BIG board game convention. This year it falls on **Saturday 29th of August** at **Mulgrave Community Center**! We will be playing games from 10am-10pm! **What to expect:** * **Gaming**! We have a large section of games available at the venue and MANY people will bring their own games too! A chance to try something new or something you've been itching to re-table! * **Meet people!** We have a wide variety of people attend with multiple tables set up for different gaming levels and experiences. We will help you find your place in the community! * **Fun**! We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment and want to have everyone involved! If you have a game that you want to share, please feel free to bring it along. We play all sorts of games - card games, party games, strategy games - and we're happy to teach new players. Groups for games usually form between 6:30-6:45, so it's important to try arrive on time to ensure you're allocated to a game/group. Anyone arriving late may have to wait for a game if all groups have started. The cafe has drinks and food available. We’re back in 2026! Come play games with us! This venue is definitely biased towards "euro" style games but any and all games are welcome. Members will bring games that they like. Anything that is fun to play and share is welcome! Don't have a game, don't worry. We've got a decent selection, but you're always welcome to bring a game if you would like. Never played a board game before or it's been 20 years? No problem, we'd be happy to show you how to play. We love beginners, because we were all beginners at one point. Life is full of stress, let Monday nights be a fun night.
