We admired Tomo's amazing collection of hand made doubling cubes for sale (we purchase a few £25 od these unique cubes) along with his handcrafted leather board. Gest is located next to one of Euston Square's tube exits - ensure you choose the Gest has become a favourite spot for our lively backgammon group - offering warmth, bright space with a relaxed and friendly vibe - helped by friendly staff. Social Backgammon Whether you’re a seasoned player or completely new, everyone’s welcome. Our Sunday afternoon meetups offer a mix of friendly competition, laughter and the occasional lucky double six. Add alongside this, the food, drinks and easy conversation, and you’ve got the makings of a wonderful Sunday afternoon. 20% off food and drink In order for us to attend Gest, we must each order at least one drink, possibly two, and hopefully one of their meals - I can highly recommend their chicken burger! This will help us to maintain such a generous deal in an accommodating setting. For this we will receive 20pc off all food and drinks! About Our Backgammon Group Our group started in June 2015 and has now run nearly 500 official meetups plus over 250 spin-off informal gatherings. With nearly 2,500 members, we’re the largest backgammon group in the UK, and we're known for our warmth, humour and friendliness. We mostly and typically meet fortnightly on Sundays, with around twenty or so regulars along with new players joining our gatherings each time. Everyone is welcome, whatever your level. Dinner, drinks and playing time We usually sit down for a relaxed group meal around 6pm, but you’re free to order whenever it suits you. Many people arrive early, stay late, and dip in and out of games between food, drinks, conversation and laughter. RSVP Please RSVP as soon as you can, as it really helps with planning with Gest's management who will kindly arrange tables for us. Please bring your own board If you have a backgammon board, please bring it. If you don’t, just post a note on the Meetup page or message me in advance and we’ll match you up. It’s always fun to see the variety of boards, of all sizes, colours... that people bring along. Meetup fee £4 per person. This small contribution helps pay Meetup, admin, and other organisational costs that keep the group running smoothly. **Welcome to Mafia Games (and Picnic) in the Park!** With summer having arrived, we thought we’d have a few games of Mafia in an outdoor space. We will have a couple of picnic blankets but please feel free to bring your own blankets/folding chairs if you’d like. **Do I need to know anything beforehand?** This is a casual **beginner-friendly** event in the park, and most of you will be playing with us for the first time. You will get to play many games. Most importantly, this is a social activity, so feel free to talk to anyone between the games and have fun! **What is Mafia?** Have you seen 'The Traitors'? Play the game that 'Traitors' is based upon! Mafia is a 10-player social game; it can get competitive, but it's easy to learn. We play at multiple tables. You get a secret role and work with your team to win. A game lasts about 45 minutes, so we play many during the day. The **Mafia team** tries to hide and eliminate the **Citizens**, while the **Citizens** try to find the Mafia through deduction and logic. While this is a **beginner-friendly** event, we also host tournaments and online events with more experienced players from around the world. Monday games (beginner friendly)

Come and play board games! Join us for tabletop board and card games such as Just One, Colt Express, Saboteur, Potion Explosion and Wingspan. Monday nights are aimed at welcoming players who are new to modern board games. We always try to make sure that someone is happy to teach games and welcome new people on the night, so don't worry if you're not sure what to play or who to sit with. We don't charge a fee for attending the Meetup, but you will need to pay the venue's game session fee of £8 per person (unless you have a Gold or VIP [Ludoquist membership](https://www.theludoquist.com/collections/membership-2022)). Please arrive by 18:50 in time for everyone to get into groups for the main games to start at 19:00. We will start arriving from 18:30 if anyone wants to join early for short games and chat.
