A stunning 4.5 mile linear walk with host Elaine and Kevin, from Gunnersbury to Hammersmith, festooned with variety and interest with highlights that include stunning historic old buildings, a beautiful walk along the River Thames in an amazing setting, cobbled paths, one of the smallest squares in London, a visit to William Hogarth's house and his final resting place, an old brewery, a stunning church Tower from the 1400's the oldest building in Chiswick. Visit the grounds of Chiswick House with a stop at the cafe, Tommy Cooper's home, a cathedral, the site of the first electric telegraph line and the oldest wisteria in Britain dating back to 1816, a place so quintessentially British that it inspired James Thompson to write ‘Rule Britannia!’, visit film and music locations such as Sliding Doors, James Bond, Bohemian Rhapsody and even where The Beatles performed ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Rain’ in the iconic 18th-century gardens of Chiswick House for promotional films that were the forerunners of music videos and even the smallest pub bar in the world! The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 40 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you! On the Walking Westminster Tour, we give you the finest that London has to offer! We shall be seeing London's greatest landmarks, from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey! With Palaces, Prime Ministers, and Royal Scandal, there's something for everyone our walk back in time through 1000 years of history! Our tour group meets at the fountain outside Green Park Station, and sets off at 1'o clock sharp! The tour lasts 90 minutes and is 3 kilometres of walking through Central London! We will walk over a plague pit and escape Newgate Prison! Our tour group meets outside Barbican Tube Station, and sets off at 1pm sharp! The tour lasts 90 minutes, finishing off outside St Pauls Cathedral! Afterwards you pay what you think the tour is worth! We accept cash or cards!
