Figure Drawing San Francisco

Take a turn modeling (nude) then just draw for the rest of the session. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends! Optional $10 donation to cover studio rent is suggested but not required. We will supply chairs but bring your own drawing materials, such as pencil, paper, and drawing board if you have one. (No oil paints, solvents, or fixative inside the building.) Open to all levels of experience.

Just some convivial folks hanging out at a neighborhood pub with their skechbooks. You don't have to be an "artist," or whatever that means, to be here. Bringing art supplies is a great idea though! Hydration is encouraged! The Flying Pig sells soft drinks and other n/a options as well as beer and cider.  We come up with a theme or prompt for each week. You're free to use it or ignore it. It's about inspiring to stray from the norm. Speaking of which, this week's theme/prompt is [TBA]

Cafe sketching at CoRo Coffee Room in Berkeley. 📍 **1:30pm Meet inside.** Look for us with sketchbooks. 🎨 Bring your own art supplies. Roam freely. Sketch what you see. ☕ Pull up a chair anytime to draw with us and talk art. 📓 3:15pm. We wrap things up with a show & tell throwdown. This is organized by the **[Cafe Art Circle](https://www.zenbay.org/cafe_art_circle)** meetup under SF Sketchers. We explore coffee and tea shops around the Bay Area, using sketching as a way to experience the atmosphere of each place and its neighborhood. Established in 2015, CoRo (short for Bay Area CoRoasters) is a collaborative roasting space for more than 20 independent local coffee companies. From the Coffee Room, large windows look directly into the roastery, giving us a chance to sketch both the cafe and some of the craft magic happening behind the scenes. **The plan for our AUGUST 30th session is by** **The Band Shell in GGP.** Great trees and architecture, lots of benches, bathrooms and food/drinks nearby. Public transport should be easy. **At 1pm** I'll meet you at the first fountain in front of the bandstand - come say hello then find a spot to draw. **At 3:30 pm** we'll meet at the fountain to share and enjoy everybody's work. **Bring layers!** Fog and wind are *always* a possibility, dress in layers. **1890 BRYANT STREET STUDIOS** Great models in a great studio in a great building meet every Friday 6-9PM for a drop-in figure drawing session. We supply easels, and drawing boards and horses - bring your own supplies. No solvents please. This group has been going strong since 1977 and just recently lost their home and have relocated with us. **PARKING:** Easy on Friday nights. **PLEASE SHOW UP BEFORE 6PM**: A person is posted at the entrance from 5:30 - 6PM. They go draw at 6PM and after that and door is locked with a phone number sign to call for entry. **OTHER:** There's always coffee and sweets! And great music.

**The Mill Valley Lumber Yard is a great, chill place to sketch!** The lumber yard is closely tied to the history of Mill Valley and has now been beautifully renovated with some beautiful stores: a bakery, a restaurant, a crêperie, and thirteen independently owned shops. A few of the original buildings are still intact. The grounds include seating areas, fire pits, hidden gardens, and a creek that runs throughout the property. There is also a spectacular view of Mount Tamalpais. Here's [their website](https://www.millvalleylumberyard.com/). We'll meet at 10:00am at the chairs across from *The Good Life* shop and throw down sketches at noon. **Directions:** Take the from Hwy.101 exit (441B) toward Stinson Beach but turn right on Almonte Blvd./Miller Ave. to the Lumber Yard or take the East Blithedale Ave. exit (447) from Hwy.101 into downtown Mill Valley, then left on Miller Ave. to the Lumber Yard. [St. Anne of the Sunset](https://www.facebook.com/StAnneSF/) is a historic Roman Catholic parish located at **850 Judah Street** in San Francisco's Inner Sunset district. Established in 1904, the landmark church is known for its prominent rosy-red exterior, massive dome. Dress warm, bring a chair, don't block walkways or private driveways.
