Photography Exhibition, Book Launch & Creative Evening

Thu, Sep 3, 1:00 AM
From Photography & Visual Storytelling LA

Join us on September 2 from 6–10 PM in Glendale for a photography exhibition, book launch, wine, light bites, and an evening of creativity and connection. Explore 50 photographs across four collections: sunsets, ocean, black and white, and travel, and celebrate the launch of my first book, “I Found My Ikigai. It’s Photography. What’s Yours?”. The book combines photography with short reflections on fear, confidence, change, and finding the courage to begin. There will also be a Letter to Your Future Self corner and space to connect with local creatives and new people. Whether you’re a photographer, writer, artist, or simply looking for inspiration and community, you’re welcome here. Admission is free. Please RSVP so we can prepare enough wine, bites, and space for everyone. See you on September 2!

AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

Fri, Aug 14, 10:00 PM
From AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World
5.0

We frame ourselves as **"a support group for the technological singularity"** and we are an eclectic mix of open-minded thinkers, artists, and tinkerers who believe in embracing the emerging technologies and capabilities in the most humanitarian way possible. Our meetings have a super casual and open atmosphere where all are welcome to contribute. Feel free to come late or leave early. So whether you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, a creative professional already using AI on the daily, or someone just starting their first vibe coding project, this group may be for you! **NOW NEW & IMPROVED (Until the end of summer!)** We are doing "Hack-a-salons" after every meeting (starting at 5pm) now that 310 Coffee is staying open later. So please bring your laptops or art projects, or works in progress that you have questions on or want to present to the group. No podiums... only passion projects, good people and great vibes! ☺️ **What to Expect** Interesting conversations, relevant content, and educational resources. We are a diverse community of people who want to help each other and the world around us. We meet in person once a week at **310 Coffee in Culver City from 3-5pm**, we share our work and interesting news in our Whatsapp group, put on remote Learning Labs, go to events together, and encourage our members (who have the availability) to participate in a learning collective where we can volunteer to give each other one-on-one crash courses in various artistic, technical, and entrepreneurial disciplines. Here is a list of what we can teach: [https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know](https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know) We also encourage each of our members to take on a Passion Project, which could be as simple as getting up and running with a new artistic medium or project, or as complex as laying the groundwork for your dream business or career. We believe there has never been a better time (at least in OUR lifetimes) to set your sights on what your ideal life would be two years from now and then just start moving toward it. And maybe we can help you do that by giving you the hand-holding you need to get over that first hump, which can sometimes be the most difficult part. **How to Give Back** If you are a member looking to give back, or if you like what our organization is doing, then please follow, subscribe, rate us, and smash that like! 🤣 I know it seems silly to many of you, but in the attention economy, just the act of following us, liking our posts, and reviewing our events can make a huge difference in how the algorithm shines upon us. Also, if you would like to support us in a more direct way, please consider giving us a one-time donation, subscribing to one of our tiers, or sponsoring us. We pay for a lot of stuff out of pocket, so please consider becoming a patron to support the overall longevity of our group and vision. [https://strangenew.world/support-us](https://strangenew.world/support-us) **More Information** What we explore during our meetings really depends on who shows up and what they want to discuss: * The changing job market. What skills will matter in 10 years * The future of business and the creative industries * Chatbots, LLMs, and Agentic Workflows * Using AI for scientific or artistic exploration * Will generative art destroy Hollywood or save it? * What is consciousness? What constitutes intelligence? * The various types/platforms of vibecoding and which is best for your project * The end of capitalism as we know it * Are we entering the 2nd Cognitive Revolution? **Learn more at: [https://strangenew.world](https://strangenew.world)**

From Artists Against Generative AI

A gathering for artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers, actors, and anyone who believes human creativity should never have been automated in the first place. Right now, artists in every discipline are navigating enormous changes fueled by Generative AI. Questions around consent and ownership are everywhere and many are wondering what it means to sustain a creative career. Join fellow artists, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and creative workers for a relaxed afternoon of good food and community. Whether you’ve been organizing around generative AI for years or you’re simply trying to make sense of what’s happening, you’ll find a welcoming space to share your frustrations and wins with others who care deeply about protecting human creativity. Be ready to discuss what you’re making, what’s challenging you, or how this community can support you.

UX & Content Los Angeles: Aug 2026 Meetup

UX & Content Los Angeles: Aug 2026 Meetup

Sat, Aug 29, 5:00 PM
From Content Strategy Los Angeles
4.9

Our monthly coffee meetups are back: bringing together UX designers, UX researchers, content designers, content strategists, UX writers, and other product professionals to connect and build community. This month, we're returning to Central LA as part of our ongoing rotation across East, Central, and West Los Angeles. Best of all: this event is **FREE**! We'll be gathering on the outdoor patio at Coffee MCO. Just look for the UX & Content Los Angeles group when you arrive. As always, we'll have Sharpies and name tags on hand to help everyone learn each other's names. The name tags will be color-coded so you can easily identify whether someone is a product/UX designer, content designer/content strategist/UX writer, or UX researcher. **By attending this event, you agree to our Code of Conduct. [Our Code of Conduct can be found under the UX & Content Los Angeles Meetup About section.](https://www.meetup.com/content-strategy-los-angeles/)** **Parking:** Small private lot behind Coffee MCO off Eden Ave. Other than that, it's street parking. Coffee MCO's parking lot can fill up on weekends, so I recommend arriving a few minutes early and utilizing nearby street parking if needed. *** As I begin planning the next chapter of UX & Content Los Angeles, I'd love to hear your feedback. I've put together a short midyear survey to better understand how you'd like to engage with the community, what types of events you'd like to attend, and what topics you'd like to see covered in future programming. The survey takes approximately 3–5 minutes to complete, and your feedback will directly influence future events. **[Take the 3–5 minute survey here](https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/95QMHSX)** Please submit your responses by **Friday, August 7th**. *** **Community Perks** Our friends at Button and LavaCon have generously offered discount codes for the UX & Content Los Angeles community: **Button 2026** — Save $100 on individual passes with code **CSLA100**. **[Learn about Button](https://www.buttonevents.com/2026-conference)** **LavaCon 2026** — Save $100 on in-person tuition with code **CSLA**. **[Learn about LavaCon](https://lavacon.org/)** Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones!
