Sun, Sep 20, 3:30 PMThis meetup is for anyone—anyone at all—who enjoys playing around with words in a safe and welcoming environment. You’ll be given a prompt (usually one word, such as “playground” or “shiver”) and time to express yourself in writing in response to it. Anything goes: prose, poetry, lists, letters, lyrics; any form which calls to you and requests expression. After we have finished writing together, you will be invited to share your piece with the group. Reading is optional, but other writers’ responses are a gift to you. We offer our responses to this newly-written work in the form of what stayed with us, what we remembered from the piece, what resonated with us. This is not a writing class, but learning what other writers remember in your piece will guide you in the craft of writing. We treat all writing as story, literature or fiction, whether imagined or remembered. This is liberating for the writer, as you are free to write and it will never be considered to be “about you.” The first person is always just a character. Please bring your own writing equipment. It is helpful to come on time so you can hear the prompt and have enough time to write. Please buy a drink or snack from Charcha, our generous host. I am a certified Affiliate in the Amherst Writers and Artists Method, a writing process which has been used worldwide, with diverse populations, to create safe, supportive writing environments. Fri, Sep 25, 9:00 AMA casual (but coordinated) coffee break to meet new friends, take a Zoom break, and get your AM caffeine fix. Stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time. Bring a friend or wander in solo. Come for the coffee and company, or just bring a book to read while surrounded by other in-real-life, community-seeking humans. Come by every Friday, or just when you happen to be in town. Make it whatever you need it to be that week. It's not an \*event\* per se, but we hope these Friday meet-ups can become a fixture of the bookshop! Gathering spot will be in the downstairs area of the bookshop (near the Community Library). Sun, Oct 4, 6:15 AM**Ciao!** Esta vez nos vamos a la costa del Garraf para recorrer el **camino panorámico que une Sitges con Vilanova i la Geltrú por el interior**, un **camino panorámico** y bastante fácil que pasa por Les Planes de can Pere Pau y **sus pinedas** 🌲🌳🏞️ Al llegar a Vilanova i la Geltrú tendremos una parada muy especial: visitaremos el **Museo de Curiosidades Marineras**, situado en un lugar emblemático de la ciudad. (Además, al ser el primer domingo de mes, **la entrada al museo es gratuita**.) Después de la visita, seguiremos nuestro paseo hasta la **Platgeta dels Frares**, donde, si el tiempo y las ganas acompañan, podremos darnos **quizás el último baño de la temporada**. 🏊♀️🌞 Y luego podremos comer nuestro **picnic** tranquilamente junto al mar o volver a los **jardines del Far de Sant Cristòfol**, un lugar perfecto para descansar. Para terminar la jornada, nos perderemos un poco por el **precioso casco antiguo de Vilanova i la Geltrú**, donde podremos tomar un café, un helado o simplemente sentarnos a compartir las impresiones del paseo. ☕🍦 Itinerarios Curiosos es una experiencia de **paseo consciente** ( mindful walking) : paseos para improvisar, para dejarse llevar por la creatividad, la aventura; romper con la rutina diaria para redescubrir la lentitud, estimular la curiosidad, aprender de lo que nos rodea y llenar los ojos y también los otros **sentidos** de **nuevas experiencias**. ¿ Eres curios@ ?
