**BCRG first Sunday of the month social ride** **What to Expect:** This is a monthly riding event that the organizers of BRCG created to socialize between the different groups and levels of the participants of this meetup. Every organizer shares the details of his ride below and you can attend signing up for the event and answering the name of the organizer you will go with. After the rides, all groups will meet for drinks. **Is This Ride for Me?** Before to sign up for a ride check the details of the route, elevation, km and speed level expected. While this ride is open to everyone, we ask that you are comfortable riding in groups, have a **road bike**, and **have done rides of similar distance and elevation** before. We welcome all newcomers but everyone is expected to be **self-sufficient**, therefore please bring not only your helmet, a spare inner tube, at least 1lt of water and a energy snack if you wish but also sync the route, bring phone and some cash. **Safety:** Beside wearing an helmet, proper shoes (not open shoes) and a road bike in good conditions **every rider is responsible of his own safety** and must respect the [spanish cyclist regulations](https://www.dgt.es/comunicacion/noticias/20-normas-que-todo-ciclista-debe-conocer/), ultimate safety starts and ends with everyone riding responsibly. Ride leaders will do their best to keep the group together, moving smoothly and safely at all times. We'll stop at red lights and obey traffic rules. **There's no commercial interest behind this event;** it's just a bunch of people sharing a fun day out. 🥾 **A long weekend (Friday is a public holiday in Bcn) in the spectacular Ordesa & Monte Perdido National Park in the Pyrenees. No pasa nada. Oh no… ✨ ¡YEPALO! This UNESCO World Heritage area offers everything that makes the Pyrenees so special: deep valleys, dramatic limestone cliffs, forests, rivers and beautiful waterfalls. Over these 3 days, we’ll enjoy a varied mountain weekend combining one of the most iconic hikes in the Pyrenees with two off-the-beaten-path valleys that are just as spectacular. We’ll walk through the stunning Ordesa Valley to the famous Cola de Caballo waterfall, explore the peaceful Valle del Otal from Bujaruelo and begin the trip with a scenic hike through the Valle de Sorrosal and the waterfalls of Plana de Abozo. Please note: this is our planned itinerary, but Yepalo may adapt the order of the hikes or replace one of them depending on weather, trail conditions or safety considerations, always with the aim of offering the best possible experience. **How to sign up?** Step 1: 👋 Sign up for Meetup on the attendee list Step 2: 💰Make the advance payment of €137 in our website: [https://www.yepalo.com/events/ordesa-monte-perdido-national-park-3-days-of-hiking-2-nights-2](https://www.yepalo.com/events/ordesa-monte-perdido-national-park-3-days-of-hiking-2-nights-2) IMPORTANT: This is the only way to ensure a place for the activity. 🥾**ITINERARY** **Day 1 – Valle de Sorrosal and the waterfalls of Plana de Abozo** We’ll leave Barcelona in the morning and travel towards **Linás de Broto**, where we’ll begin our first hike through the beautiful **Valle de Sorrosal**. The route follows traditional mountain paths through forest, open meadows and pastoral landscapes, with impressive views towards the Sierra de Tendeñera. Along the way, we’ll discover the **waterfalls of the Plana de Abozo** ravine and several old mountain shelters before returning to the starting point. Depending on the weather and trail conditions, we may instead hike through the Congost de Lo Entremón, with the possibility of enjoying a refreshing swim in the river. After the hike, we’ll continue to our accommodation, conveniently located near Linás de Broto and within easy reach of the main valleys we’ll explore during the weekend. * **Distance:** 12 km * **Positive elevation gain:** 550m **Day 2 – Ordesa Valley: from the Pradera to Cola de Caballo** This day is dedicated to one of the classic hikes of the Pyrenees: the route through the **Ordesa Valley** starting from the **Pradera de Ordesa** and going up to the famous **Cola de Caballo waterfall**. This is one of those hikes that truly shows the scale and beauty of the national park: beech forests, river crossings, spectacular waterfalls, huge limestone walls and the wide glacial valley opening in front of us step by step. A full and memorable mountain day in one of the most iconic valleys in Spain. * **Distance:** 18 km * **Positive elevation gain:** 500m (up to approx. 900 m if we take the Senda de los Cazadores, depending on the group’s fitness and motivation) **Day 3 – Bujaruelo and Valle del Otal** On our final day, we’ll explore the beautiful Bujaruelo Valley and walk into the peaceful Valle del Otal, a wide glacial valley surrounded by impressive mountain scenery. Starting near the historic Bujaruelo bridge, we’ll follow the Ara River before gradually climbing towards the Valle del Otal. The route leads us through forests and open mountain landscapes to the Otal shepherd’s hut and waterfall, where we can stop for a picnic before returning. It’s a quieter and less-travelled area than Ordesa, making it a perfect final hike before heading back to Barcelona. **Distance:** 13.5 km **Positive elevation gain:** 320 m **🚦 Difficulty level: Moderate** Expect **4 to 8 hours of hiking per day**. This trip is suitable for people with a good general fitness level who are used to full-day hikes in the mountains with some elevation gain. **🏡 Accommodation and meals** We’ll stay for 2 nights in comfortable accommodation near Linás de Broto, in a peaceful mountain setting and in a very convenient location for exploring Ordesa, Bujaruelo and the surrounding valleys. We’ll stay in rooms for **2 or 3 people**, with **single beds and a private bathroom**. Possibility of individual accommodation with a supplement of €40/night, subject to availability. The accommodation offers **breakfast for €8.50** and a **picnic for €10.50**. You can select these options during the booking process. For dinner, everyone is free to choose what suits them best. You can eat at the accommodation or make your own plans, but we’ll also suggest going together to some local restaurants with reasonable prices. 🚗 **How we'll get there:** We'll be sharing private cars. When you sign up, you'll be invited to let us know if you have a car and how many people you can take with you. Each passenger will contribute €35 to the driver to cover car expenses. 🎒**What to bring:** * Mountain shoes * Picnic for the first day * Sun protection (glasses, cap, sunscreen) * Water (1.5 L) * Walking sticks (recommended) * Waterproof jacket * Polar Fleece * Backpack * Swimsuit and towel 🤠 **Guide:** Carla **👥 Group Size:** Maximum of 14 participants. ➕ Price includes * 2 nights in the accommodation * 3 days of hiking with an official mountain guide * Accident insurance + civil liability insurance * VAT ➖ Not included * Transportation (€35 to be paid to the driver) * Meals * Bus ticket from Torla to the Ordesa Valley if necessary (round trip approx. €6) **Cancellation policy:** Change of plans? **Weekly Wednesday Morning Rides are here!!** **Where & When:** * **Location:** **Forum (Poblenou)** * **Time:** 06:30 (Now that mornings are getting lighter this sees us return for 9am latest) * **Route:** https://www.strava.com/routes/3458756381789219340 **What to Expect:** This is a fairly flat group ride with just one key climb that is neither too long or too steep. We'll ride together as a group, either single-file or double-file depending on traffic conditions. Whilst we will wait at the top of climbs and other easier areas, this is not a beginner ride. Please be prepared to be dropped if you can't keep up with the pace. **Is This Ride for Me?** While this ride is open to everyone, we ask that you are comfortable riding in groups, have a road bike, and have done rides of similar distance and elevation before. We welcome all newcomers but everyone is expected to be self-sufficient, therefore please bring not only your bike but also sync the route, bring phone, cash and lights. **Safety:** Ride leaders will do their best to keep the group together, moving smoothly and safely at all times.
