🏖️ Hike on the Beach

Sun, Aug 23, 1:00 PM
From Try Toronto

🌊 Ready to uncover one of Georgian Bay's best-kept secrets? Join us for a day at **Awenda Provincial Park**! We'll hike along a stunning lakeshore trail, hopping past rocky points and hidden coves, all the way to one of the cleanest, calmest beaches around. Once we get there - it's all yours: swim, sunbathe, play beach games, and refuel with a group picnic right on the sand 🍉🏖️ Not into sitting still? There's a bonus short trail to a quiet little lake tucked inside the park - perfect for those who want to keep exploring while the rest of us are working on our tans. 🥾 One trail, two vibes - **hike hard or relax on the beach**, everyone's welcome. ☀️ **What to Expect** • Moderate walk (\~1.5–2 hours total), mostly flat with one rocky/uneven stretch around the point - nothing technical, just watch your footing • No lifeguards at the beach - everyone swims at their own comfort level • Cell signal can be spotty in parts of the park • Washrooms available near the main parking area, not on the beach itself • Weather-dependent - we'll confirm the day before if anything changes ✨ **Price:** $65 - participants without their own transportation 🚶‍♀️ $40 - participants driving their own car 🚗 (without passengers) - promocode **SELFDRIVE** $25 - participants driving their own car 🚗 and willing to take 3+ passengers (driver pays for gas themselves) - promocode **DRIVEROFF** **Price includes:** guidance throughout the hike, light snacks and transportation coordination for participants without cars. 📍 **Meeting place:** Vaughan subway station ‼ **Difficulty:** Easy 🙋‍♀️ **Guide:** Kate - an ambassador for hiking and outdoor excursions in all seasons. A coach and advocate for the idea that therapy can save everyone. And what could be more therapeutic than walks in nature?! 🎒 **What to Wear & Bring** • Swimsuit + towel • Closed-toe water shoes or sandals with good grip - a section of the trail near Methodist Point is rocky, and part of it may require walking right along the shoreline. • Comfortable hiking shoes/sneakers for the trail itself • Hat/cap + sunscreen (there's little shade directly on the beach) • Refillable water bottle - bring more than you think you'll need, it's a hot walk • Your own lunch/snacks - light and easy to carry Contact number for the host, exact meeting spot, and other details will be shared with you right after registration, in the comments of this event.
