This is your chance to dance it out, get featured on social media and compete for exciting prizes!** Welcome to the first **Shaun’s Dance to Win Challenge**, a filmed dance-battle tournament featuring music, prizes, refreshments and plenty of unforgettable moments. Participants will be placed into pairs on a **tournament bracket**. Each pair will face off in a fun, friendly dance battle. The winner of each battle will advance to the next round, where they will face another winner. The battles continue until only two participants remain for the **final dance-off**, where one champion will be crowned! 🏆 ### How it works 💃 Participants compete in one-on-one dance battles ✅ The winner advances to the next round 🔥 Advancing dancers compete in additional battles 🏆 The final two contestants face off for the championship 🎁 The champion wins the main prize, with additional giveaways available 🎥 Every battle will be recorded and featured in our social media content 🥤 Refreshments will be provided 🎉 Expect music, entertainment and a whole lot of fun ## You do not need professional dance experience Trained dancers, self-taught dancers, beginners and complete first-timers are all welcome. You can impress with incredible technique, creative moves, confidence, humour, personality or pure energy. We are not only looking for perfect choreography—we want people who are genuinely fun and exciting to watch. Bring your best moves, your funniest moves or moves nobody has ever seen before. Once the music starts, make the floor yours! ## Filming and social media This is a **filmed dance competition**. Participants must be comfortable appearing on camera and having their battles shared on social media. You will have the opportunity to: 🎬 Be featured in professionally edited dance videos 📱 Gain visibility through our social media series ✨ Show your dancing, personality and creativity 📸 Create exciting content and memorable moments Participants will be asked to complete a simple appearance release before competing. ## Participant information When you RSVP, please provide: * Your name * Your age or age range * Your gender * Your dance experience: none, beginner, intermediate or experienced * Your social media handle, if you would like to be tagged * Confirmation that you are comfortable being filmed This information will help us prepare the **tournament bracket** and organize the dance pairings before the event. The Board Games event is a fun, sociable and charitable event We are a fun, friendly and kind group of people mostly in our 20s, 30s and 40s. Beginners are welcome! We are a very inclusive and social group and we teach people how to play games they have not played before :) We provide a variety of 40+ board games. The games usually take 5 or 10 minutes to learn and 30 to 60 minutes to play. Play in French: On the last Friday of the month, we're offering a table where the games are played in French. Anyone with an intermediate level of French who wants to practice while playing is welcome to join. Just ask for Philippe when you arrive. **Time** *Board Games Start time: 630pm - Board Games end time: 10pm *Eat / Drink/ Socialise at a nearby pub afterwards **Location** 30 Leeds St, Toronto, ON M6G 3R8 (Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection) The entrance to the board game room is at the back of the Church. There is a sign on the door that says BOARD GAMES GROUP. Please use the map provided on the event page also. Payment **There are two ways to pay** **10 by Cash - coins are not accepted. Only bills.**** **11.55 by Debit/Credit card **Charity Donations** - This is a not-for-profit initiative. Revenue go towards covering costs of the event including venue, insurance marketing, refreshments and board games. Any surplus revenue is donated to charity **Food and drink** *Everyone will get cookies/candy for free - Cups will be provided for tap water *Bring your own food and drink. - Please do not bring CHIPS AND CRACKERS as they make a mess and are greasy ***ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED AND WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON THIS - there are no second chances** Photos will be taken at the event and posted publicly for marketing purposes. This will be a 4 v 4 format. You will play 4s with beach rules but you’ll be playing against Low Int 5s or Mid 4s This event is for those currently playing Low Int 5s and want to transition to Mid Int 4s level and transitioning to playing with beach rules. You should be amongst the strongest players at the Low Int 5s level to play this level. Please note that you must know FULL beach rules. You MUST answer the RSVP question to play this event. If your answer is wrong or you do not answer then you will be removed from the event. The question or your response may not show up when using some apps so please RSVP from a computer. Beach Rules - [#1 Beach Volleyball and Social Group Discussions](https://www.meetup.com/beach-vball/discussions/) Please note that you MUST answer the RSVP question and provide your email address and correctly answer the beach rules question to confirm your rsvp. If you do not answer the question and provide this your RSVP will be removed Requests to play together must be submitted in your RSVP answers when you sign up and must be requested by each player. You can request to play with 1 other player. Beyond one player is not guaranteed Since this is a team sport event, the proper number of players is very important. RSVP changes less than 72 hrs before any event that is full/has waitlist or 48 hrs before any events not full will to be considered a late bail-out. Late bail outs or no shows will be assessed a "strike" 2 strikes and you will be suspended from participating in group events. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS LEVEL IF YOU ARE A RECREATIONAL PLAYER AND ARE NOT CAPABLE OF CONTROLLING THE BALL TO PASS, SET AND SPIKE. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A HIGHER LEVEL IF LOWER LEVEL EVENTS ARE FULL. If the event is full, put yourself on the waiting list.
