Columbus Shimmy and Socialize Belly Dance Night

We are putting together a casual evening for anyone interested in belly dance to come together, share some movement, and get to know others in the local community. This event is open to everyone, whether you are currently taking classes, are a seasoned dancer, or are just curious about the art form and want to see what it is all about. We will spend some time practicing some basic movements and enjoying the music, followed by time to hang out and chat. The goal is to keep things relaxed and supportive as we connect with others who share an interest in dance. You do not need any special equipment to join us, just wear something comfortable that you can move in easily. If you have been looking for a low-pressure way to meet fellow dancers in Columbus, we would love to have you join us. Join us for a night of board gaming with FANG (Fem All Night Gaming). **We are an all fem & them board game group** in Columbus, Ohio. We play modern hobby board games! If you're unsure what that is, we can teach you! We'll be meeting on the second floor of Giant Eagle Market in Grandview in their cafe area. Progressive Euchre Night

Come solo or bring friends to this fun evening of casual progressive euchre! All skill levels welcome. We created this evening as a chance to have fun and make new friends. If you are looking for a serious, cutthroat night of swashbuckling card play, this event might not be for you. In this version of euchre, after everyone has dealt, you will switch partners and sometimes tables until you've played with everyone in your group. Each player tracks all points scored on their own scoresheet, which accumulates with each partner you play with. We'll have some light snacks and some non-alcoholic drinks. Feel free to bring something similar to share, or to keep all to yourself. We won't judge. Well, maybe a little. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and games will begin around 6:30 p.m.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)

The topic for October is "The Strange and the Spooky." Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. **Cost**: We do not require a fee to attend the events and The Forgehas graciously reserved us space to mee. We urge everyone to take full advantage of their drink selection and restaurant menu. The Forge has a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. does have a full bar and kitchen. in order to keep the event free, we want to average $20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each and we encourage you to try the mocktails as a level up! Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! **Parking**: We ask all attendees to park in the overflow lot located behind the Mexican restaurant next door unless of course you have mobility needs and need to park in the Forge Lot out front. **Gaming**: The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. **when you arrive**: The Forge staff can direct you to our reserved area and a group event host can help you find a table and get going on something fun! Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. **Prohibited behavior** We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. This includes especially, harassment or disrespectful behavior towards attendees and Forge staff.
