Entrepreneurs, freelancers, & founders weeknight meetup

Tue, May 26, 7:00 PM
From NYC CoworkNChill - remote/wfh & hybrid professionals

**Building something in NYC can feel isolating when your life doesn’t follow the typical 9–5 path.** **This meetup is for entrepreneurs, freelancers, creatives, solopreneurs, and self-employed individuals who are actively building their own thing. Whether you’re running a business, freelancing, creating content, consulting, or figuring it out as you go, this is a space to connect with others on a similar journey.** **The goal is simple:** **Meet like-minded people, learn about each other’s businesses, exchange insights, share resources, collaborate, and build genuine relationships with people who understand the ups and downs of creating your own path.** **We’re hoping to make this a weekly gathering and slowly build a strong community around ambitious people who rely on their own skills, creativity, and vision to create opportunities for themselves.** **This is open to all freelancers and entrepreneurs, but we do want to keep the space intentional. Please only join if you’re actively pursuing your business, craft, or creative goals.** **Call/Txt: 9292881905/7023065757** **—** **💻 About CoworkNChill** **CoworkNChill is a NYC-based community for founders, creatives, remote workers, and people looking for more genuine connection in the city.** **We host weekly coworking meetups, social events, wellness activities, dinners, runs, trips, and spontaneous hangs designed to bring people together organically.** **Come for the productivity, stay for the community 🌊**

This virtual open mic is held every second Thursday of the month as a collaboration between the National Writers Union ([https://nwu.org](www.nwu.org)/) and the NYPL Ottendorfer Library. Each writer can read for up to seven minutes. Reading order will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. Advanced registration is available at [Events \| The New York Public Library \(nypl\.org\)](https://www.nypl.org/events/calendar). If you have any problems joining our open mic, send an email to Mercedes Lau at mercedeslau@nypl.org or call/text Alexandria at (203) 947-2497. Much thanks to our co-host, Elissa P. Matthews! Check out her website, especially the About Me which is like no other short biography. https://epmatthews.com/about/ This virtual stage allows you to add video or music to your reading as long as you have permission from the copyright owner. Participants cannot sell their works during the event but can show the book covers during their readings. Content should be for a general audience and readings including language or descriptions inappropriate for children must begin with a warning. Recording of this event is strictly prohibited. The NWU enjoys bringing communities of writers together. Events like this one become conduits for sharing our individual works more widely. However, any invitation from an editor or a publisher that is extended during our gatherings does not have the NWU's endorsement unless specifically stated otherwise. Please always protect your work by doing your own due diligence and tapping into the NWU's resources.
