Echoes of the Concrete Jungle

Wed, Sep 2, 9:00 AM
From Concrete Echoes Urban Exploration Social Club

If you have ever walked past a forgotten building or an overgrown lot in Newport News and wondered about the stories tucked away behind the chain-link fences, this circle is for you. We are gathering a small group of local urban explorers who appreciate the history, architecture, and quiet beauty of our city’s post-industrial landscape. This is not about trespassing or destruction; it is about documenting the structures that time has left behind and sharing the unique perspectives that only come from looking at our neighborhood through a different lens. We will spend the session sharing photos, discussing safe exploration practices, and highlighting some of the most interesting spots tucked away in the concrete corners of the city. Whether you are an experienced photographer, a local history enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys wandering off the beaten path, you will find a welcoming space here. Come ready to trade some stories and maybe find a few new partners for your next weekend walk. We are capping the group size to keep the conversation manageable and focused. If you are interested in joining the discussion, please let us know by clicking the RSVP button.

AI Automation for Working Professionals: Practitioner

AI Automation for Working Professionals: Practitioner

Tue, Aug 18, 8:00 AM
From Western Sydney Tech Innovators
4.8

The professionals who get the most out of AI aren't using it as a smarter search engine, they've taught it their workflow. In this hands-on 201 workshop, you'll build reusable Claude "skills", connect the tools you already use, and automate the recurring tasks that eat your calendar. Less busywork. Better output. More time for the work that matters. **What You'll Do** * Turn a messy spreadsheet into a polished, presentable report in minutes, that frustrating kind that usually eats your afternoon. * Build a reusable skill: your personalised workflow that Claude executes on demand without re-prompting. * Connect the tools you already use, calendar, social, messaging, so it helps where your work actually happens. * Set up a recurring digest or weekly summary that arrives without you lifting a finger. **You'll Walk Out With** * A polished work output created during the session. * A reusable workflow you can apply again. * A stronger understanding of how AI can reduce repetitive work. * More confidence turning information into useful business outputs. * A practical next step toward automation. **Who This Is For** * Working professionals who deal with reports, admin, documents or research. * Consultants and freelancers who want to produce better outputs faster. * Founders and operators who want to streamline repeat work. * People who have tried AI and want to use it more systematically. * Anyone with basic AI experience who wants to move from prompting to a Claude Code based workflow design. * 101 is helpful, but not required. You can drop into 201 directly if you already have basic confidence using AI tools. **Event Details** **📅 Tuesday 18 Aug 2026** **🕕 6:00–8:30 PM** **📍 Western Sydney Startup Hub, 5 Fleet Street, North Parramatta** **🎯 Level 201 · Intermediate · Basic AI familiarity helpful** **Tickets** **$29 per session ($19 for Early-Bird).** No prerequisite, each session stands alone. Attending all three gives you the full arc from setup to full autonomous workflows. **Included:** * Laptop access during the workshop & Claude and AI access ready to use (Worth $20). * Guided hands-on exercises. * Practical examples for real work. * Support from the WSTI team. * Bring your own laptop and Claude Pro licence if you prefer, but you do not need to. Less admin chaos. More workflow magic. More time for the work that lights you up. Grab your ticket and walk out with a reusable AI workflow you can put to work the very next day ✨ **Conditions of Attendance** The event sessions are for learning and professional development. They are not for seeking out new clients or recruiting talent. **Notice of Photography and Filming** By entering this event, you acknowledge that photography, audio, and video recording may occur. Your attendance constitutes your consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or recorded and to the release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction of such media for promotional purposes by Western Sydney Tech Innovators (WSTI). If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please inform a WSTI team member upon arrival. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Following the fireside conversation, we'll open the floor for an audience Q&A, giving attendees the chance to ask their own questions and engage directly with one of the industry's most experienced product executives. We'll then continue the conversation over drinks and networking with Sydney's product community. **Evening timeline** 5.30 – 6.15pm: Arrive, grab a drink, and connect 6.15 – 7.15pm: Fireside conversation with Jon Alferness and audience Q&A 7.15 – 8.00pm: Networking, conversation, and connection Whether you're an experienced product leader, an aspiring executive, or simply curious about how the world's best product organisations think and operate, this promises to be an evening of practical insights, honest stories, and unforgettable access. Automate Your Business with AI Agents — AI OS Build Day

Automate Your Business with AI Agents — AI OS Build Day

Fri, Aug 28, 11:30 PM
From Western Sydney Tech Innovators
4.8

This is a paid event. There is a limited number of Early Bird tickets at $149 until 14th August, after which the Standard Ticket price is $249. **"I'm ready to automate my business and build AI Agents — not just hear about them."** Sound familiar? You're ready for the next step. In this full-day flagship, you'll set up a **Business AI OS** — the foundational system that holds a business's context, memory, and tool connections, and powers every AI Agent that runs on it. By the end of the day, you'll have built **two example AI Agents** on a Business AI OS (Operations in the morning, Social Media Automation in the afternoon), seen how they reinforce each other, and walk out with the option to book a free 1-hour follow-up consultation to map your next step. **What You'll Walk Out With** * **A working Business AI OS** set up on a real business scenario — the foundational layer that everything else builds on * **Two example AI Agents** running on the Business AI OS — Operations in the morning, Social Media Automation in the afternoon * **Hands-on experience** with how Agentic AI workflows reinforce each other and compound productivity * **A deeper foundation** in what makes Agentic AI work for a small and medium business owner * **An optional free 1-hour AI consultation** with our Young AI Engineers — to map out your next step **Who This Is For** * SME owners and founders ready to invest a full day building hands-on with Agentic AI * Small and medium business owners wanting to set up the foundational system that everything else builds on * Anyone curious about how Western Sydney businesses are already running on Agentic AI **What to Expect** * **Background** — what a Business AI OS is and why it's the foundation of running on Agentic AI * **Demo** — a live walk-through of a Business AI OS in action * **Two Hands-on Projects** — set up the Business AI OS in the morning (with an example Operations Agent), extend it with example Social Media Automation in the afternoon, all on a real business scenario * **Lunch + Networking** — meet other Western Sydney founders running on AI Agents * **Next Steps** — share-back and the option to book your free 1-hour AI consultation with our Young AI Engineers **Run on AI Agents Series — July 2026** * **Sat 8 Aug** · Automate Your Business Operations with AI Agents * **Sat 15 Aug** · Automate Your Content Creation and Social Media with AI Agents * **Sat 22 Aug** · Automate Your Marketing & Sales with AI Agents * **Sat 29 Aug** · Automate Your Business with AI Agents — AI OS Build Day *(full-day flagship)* **FAQ** * *What is a Business AI OS?* Think of it like a personal AI operating system for the business owner — the foundational layer that knows the business (context, knowledge, memory) and connects to your tools, so it can spawn the right AI Agent for whatever task needs doing. One foundation, many possibilities. * *Do I need to know anything about AI before I come?* The Build Day moves faster than the 2-hour tasters. We recommend attending at least one June taster first if you're brand new to AI — but it's not required. * *Do I need to bring a laptop?* No — WSTI provides a workstation for project activity. Bring your own if you'd like to keep tinkering afterward. * *What platform do you use?* We work with Claude Code and Claude Cowork — the same approach can be applied with other Agentic AI tools and platforms too. * *Do I need an AI licence to join?* No — WSTI provides everything you need to use during the workshop. * *Is lunch included?* Yes. * *What's the free 1-hour AI consultation?* After Build Day, every attendee is offered an optional 1-hour follow-up consultation — a chance to talk about your actual business, get personalised guidance, and map out the right next step. Take it up if it's useful; no pressure if not. ### **Notice of Photography and Filming** By entering this event, you acknowledge that photography, audio, and video recording may occur.
