"My interdisciplinary art practice is an experiment in understanding who I was, who I am, and who I wish to become as I fully integrate the pieces of my fragmented identity. Through a variety of mediums, I explore what it means to be an American citizen, Puerto Rican, a Veteran, a woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a wife...In my practice, I strive to find connections between my past and my present. I use wood, clay, photography, and my pen as the strings that weave a healing blanket. I am a firm believer that art saves lives and I hope that my art can one day help someone heal." Reston Musical Get-Together Jam

Friendly get-togethers to play music, sing, drum, and learn. Musicians, singers, professionals, amateurs, beginners, all musical levels and all kinds of instruments welcome. We have informal/casual gatherings where you can enjoy playing music and singing with other members, can meet friendly people, and get inspired by others. Every meeting is adifferent combination! All musical levels, including beginners, are welcome, so long as you enjoy it! Bring extra instruments if you have them. Please come with 2 or 3 songs in mind that you would like to learn or play. Art All Night Georgetown - Jazz, Art, Wine, Fun

Organizers this year put Georgetown and Dupont on the same night, so after looking it over, I think Georgetown has more fun venues and activities. It's a hectic event with lots of people and venues, but it's all pretty close together and should be fun. We'll start outside in front of the Georgetown Lutheran Church where a wonderful group called The Panachays will be performing French classics from 6-7. Showcase sites on Wisconsin Avenue include: Shop Made in DC at 1304, L’Enfant Gallery at 1442, Cottage House Ethiopian Cuisine at 1529, Georgetown Lutheran Church at 1556, the Pit Stop Stage at the former TD Bank location on the corner of Q Street, Gallery 16Ten at 1610, Gallery Article 15 at 1624, Calloway Fine Art & Consulting at 1643, Addison/Ripley Fine Art and StudioLab RD at 1670 and Washington Printmakers Gallery at 1675. Highlights Include: **Cottage House Ethiopian Cuisine** will demonstrate an Ethiopian coffee ceremony on the hour from 6 to 10 p.m. A three-piece Ethiopian band will play in the back garden from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and saxophonist and vocalist Rediet Hailu will lead an “ethio-jazz” program upstairs in the lounge. **Gallery 16Ten** will celebrate the opening of Book Hill Gallery, which will display “In Bloom” by Sam Juan. On view upstairs, at Gallery 16Ten, is “The Prodigious Metamorphosis” by Naurya Pelletier-Bacquaert. **Gallery Article 15** is presenting a solo exhibition by Congolese artist JP Kiangu, with live Congolese music by Nkumu Katalay and his band from 5:30 to 9 p.m. **1223 Potomac Gallery** will host an artist talk at 7 p.m. and a live performance at 9 p.m. The artists represented in “Foot on Nex: Applying Pressure Through Collective Unity” are Artifacts, Brandon Carlton, Teia A. Lettsome, Bam Byrd and Janet Fries. At **O Street Collection**, Georgetown’s newest gallery, visitors can meet the artists, including watercolor artist and gallery owner Rita Ting-Hopper, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and take home a print from a mini print vending machine featuring original artwork highlighting Georgetown’s small businesses. **Klagsbrun Studios** is showing “Writ on Water,” selected and new work by Micheline Klagsbrun, who will be in her second-floor studio. The show features new resin-based sculptures similar to the work she is currently exhibiting in Venice at the Biennale.

**Looking for a group you can write with *whilst sipping your fave coffee*?** ☕✍️ Then come join **Shut Up & Write!** on **Saturday, September 19th from 1:30pm to 4:00pm** at **Ridgetop Coffee & Tea**! Whether you're cranking out a novel, journaling, looking for new friends, or just trying to get that stubborn paragraph right—we’ve got a cozy seat and a supportive group waiting for you! **No critiques, no peer review, no pressure—just a chill space to get words on the page.** 📝 **What to expect:** 1:30–2:00pm – Grab coffee or tea, find your seat, and meet your fellow writers. 2:00pm–3:30pm – Silent, focused writing time 3:30–4:00pm – Debrief, celebrate any writing wins, commiserate on any obstacles, and head out feeling accomplished. **RSVP Info:** The room seats only 10 people comfortably! RSVP as soon as possible to secure your spot!! If you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation **ASAP** so those on the wait list are able to RSVP and attend!!! **Meeting Room:** Enter the coffee shop, walk straight towards the play area and on your left you will see a meeting room just past the bathrooms. There is a wall outlet at each end of the room, so you're able to bring your laptop to write, but please bring your own charging tools. You're welcome to bring headphones if you enjoy listening to music while working. **Parking & Accessibility:** there is a large parking lot out front and it is free!
