**Note the address says SE but it should be SW** HSLC is excited to collaborate with October One Vineyard for a monthly Yappy Hour! To support our local animals, please bring a pet food donation. Your monetary donations help cover much-needed medical expenses for homeless and at-risk animals. This event will be 5-8pm on the last Friday of every month at the October One Vineyard tasting shop in Downtown Leesburg. This event is free to the public, so stop by and raise a glass. HSLC will be on hand to answer questions and let you know about available animals. Let’s “cheer” up our local area animals in need!

VSDC Gathering at 2:15 pm at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary Open House

The [Poplar Spring](https://www.animalsanctuary.org/) Annual Open House and Fundraiser is being held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1 to 4 pm Join [VSDC](www.vsdc.org) and hundreds of people for the Open House, featuring a live band, catered vegan food and drinks, and a chance to stroll around and visit the rescued animals. Again, there is no admission fee, but donations (of any amount) to Poplar Spring are very much appreciated. Experience the Hellfire Club's D&D adventures! You will be playing a D&D character like "Will the Wise" and "Lady Applejack" from the hit show Stranger Things as you journey through lost ruins and shadowy realms. Starting at Level 1, this is a great set of adventures for new players, fans of the show, or those wanting to play 80's-style D&D! This will be run as an AL campaign; there will be a set party of players. PCs will level up based on the campaign milestones. Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Udvar-Hazy Center Star Party

Members of the public are invited to view the wonders of the universe through the telescopes of NOVAC volunteers at the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. You do not need to be a member of the club or own any astronomical equipment to attend. Telescopes will be provided by the Smithsonian and pre-approved members of the NOVAC. No other personal telescopes are permitted at the event. The event will take place on the bus parking lot of the museum. **Please park your vehicle at the south end of the main visitors lot and follow signs and red lights to the observing site. As a reminder, parking during the event is free.** Have a cosmic question? One of NOVAC's astronomers or museum staff will be happy to help you. As the sky gets dark, be prepared to enjoy the wonders of the night sky! Don't forget to dress warmly. Please check the weather forecast. For lighting, cover a flashlight in red cellophane (the darker the better). Bring along water to keep hydrated. Note: This outdoor event is weather-dependent and may be cancelled because of significant cloud cover or precipitation.
