This is the event I wanted to go to, so I'm running it. Here is the idea, plain and simple: one sunny afternoon on the grass at Marina Green, a circle of people who actually care about how they eat, train, sleep, and age, and the kind of specific, no-fluff conversation about it that most of us never get to have out loud. This is for people from all walks of life - the "I just want to sleep better" crowd, the marathoners and the lifters, plant-based and carnivore, macro trackers, sauna and cold plunge people, bloodwork and CGM people, and folks deep in the supplement and peptide rabbit hole. Total beginners are genuinely welcome. Nobody is here to sell you a protocol or convert you to their diet. The only ask is that you come honest and stay curious. Most of us have gone down a health rabbit hole that nobody in our life wants to hear about. What actually moved the needle for you, and what turned out to be an expensive nothing? What are you experimenting with right now? What did you swear by two years ago that you have quietly dropped? This afternoon is a space to say those things out loud, with people who genuinely want to hear them. There's also a less obvious reason to come. You can dial in your training, your sleep, and your bloodwork and still be quietly skipping one of the most consistently supported longevity variables there is: real people you actually see in person. So this afternoon is both halves at once - the conversation you want, and the thing the research keeps pointing at anyway. How it works: We'll gather right on the grass at Marina Green. For the first stretch of the afternoon, the Gist IRL app pairs you up for short, focused one-on-one conversations. You always know exactly who you are talking to next, so there is no wandering around wondering who to approach. That takes the pressure off and makes it surprisingly easy to skip the small talk and get straight to the good stuff - what you actually eat, how you actually train, and what you are actually testing. Then the best part: When the rounds wrap up, you pick the people you clicked with, form a little group of 4 to 6, and walk from the green over to Chestnut Street together to keep the conversation going. Everything on the list below is a short stroll away. By late afternoon you are sitting around a table with smoothies, cold brew, and real food, comparing notes with people who take this stuff as seriously as you do. Whether this becomes your monthly training-and-bloodwork group or just a genuinely refreshing Sunday, I think you will leave with a few things worth trying and a few people worth texting. Instead of having one great conversation about VO2 max and then trading contact info that never turns into an actual meetup, we grab smoothies, coffee, and food right away. You might just stumble into your new training partners, your Saturday hike group, or the one friend who finally gets why you own three different sleep trackers. And when the afternoon wraps up, you can easily stay in touch with everyone through the app - no need to trade phone numbers. One honest note: we're here to compare notes, not to hand out medical advice. Nobody on that lawn is your doctor. Take what's useful, be skeptical of anyone who sounds too certain, and run the serious stuff by an actual professional. I can't wait to share a table and hear what you are all experimenting with.
