**Join us for another one of (LoMAZ member) Richard Barnett’s epic walks. Always oversubscribed interest to these events.** *“He’s a bit of a legend!”* Clare (host) This time we shall be exploring one of London’s many lost rivers- the greatest of them all - the mighty Fleet. A prehistoric tributary, a Roman trade route, a medieval moat, an eighteenth-century eyesore and a Victorian sewer. The history of the Fleet captures both the potent symbolism and the stomach-churning reality of London’s relationship with dirt. Join us as we paddle – metaphorically – in the Fleet’s lower reaches, exploring the experiences of those who have lived and died beside it over two thousand years of urban history. **Read more here:** Richard’s website **[here](https://richardbarnettwriter.com/about_me/)** His podcast **[’Sunstreet Passage’](https://richardbarnettwriter.com/sun-street-passage/)** **MEET DETAILS:** **FROM 2.15pm: GATHER READY FOR THE TOUR** Address: Close to Kings Cross - details tbc closer to the time. **2.30pm-4.30pm: TOUR** **(TWO HOURS)** **Walk starts on time. From Japanese Culture Meetup - London
4.8

Let's make the most of the beautiful autumn colours, and go for a walk in Holland Park's Kyoto Garden! We'll meet at Pret a Manger, near Holland Park Station. I'll be there from 2:00 PM, and we'll wait for everyone to arrive. Feel free to grab a drink and join us as we chat and get to know each other before we begin our walk. At around 2:20 we'll start heading to the park. Along the way we will explore beautiful sights, statues, wildlife and eventually the Kyoto garden - a peaceful space inspired by Japanese zen rock gardens. We will take some time to relax and look around the garden. The walk will end in Kensington High street, where you can leave, or stay with us as we go to Japan House to see their free 'Kyotographie' exhibition. To keep our walk relaxed and manageable, the group size will be limited. If you can no longer join us, please update your RSVP so someone else can take your spot. See you there!
