The purpose of this group is to join empowered women interested in empowering other women. We also hold mixed-gender events periodically, and welcome Empowering Men at these events. Learn more about us here: www.womenempoweredmcr.org.
Majority of successful women have made it through many obstacles to become successful. It is not easy to reach the top and many of us have received help and support from other empowered women. Our goal is to put our minds, energy, and love together and support women. This is a safe and supportive space for women. Please join us! Let's support each other! 😊

OnlineWelcome to our new Women Empowered (WE) online Group, which is a safe and supportive space for discussing the work and career challenges we face in our professional lives. Our goal is to create an environment where we can learn from and support one another, share our experiences and rise together.
About the Group
Why is it that we often stay silent about the obstacles we encounter in our work and careers? Many of us face struggles such as climbing the career ladder and securing that promotion, problems finding a job and facing rejections or incredibly stressful workplace experiences such as bullying or discrimination. These are experiences that many of us share and they can make us feel lonely and isolated. We rarely talk about them due to feelings of embarrassment, shame or because we feel it may be our own fault as we are not good enough. It's time for that to stop, and so the aim of this online group is to break down these barriers and to talk, support and empower one another and rise above the challenges we face.
At this online event we will:
- Discuss topics related to work and career challenges, including workplace disputes, job hunting, climbing the career ladder and more.
- Provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for women to share their experiences and seek advice from others.
- Encourage open dialogue and collaboration, promoting the idea that by opening up and talking we can rise together.
If you are going through a difficult time finding a job, in some kind of work/employment dispute, would like some tips on securing a promotion or perhaps even a career change, whatever it may be, join us and hopefully we can help to ease the burden. We want to create a community that supports and empowers other women to navigate the complexities of the professional world. Together, we can break the silence and rise above the challenges we face.
This online event will take place every two months on Tuesday evenings at 7pm to 8:30pm.
Please note:
- We are not employment experts but want to create a safe space where we can listen, support and empower other women through shared experiences and a kind, non-judgemental environment.
- We would aim to bring in employment experts (Careers Advisors/Coaches, Employment Lawyers etc) at later group sessions to provide talks and Q&As, should there be the demand.
- Anything shared in our meetings will be treated as strictly confidential.
- This event is free to attend and for Women only.

About me
This session will be run by myself, the founder of this group, Dr. Rokhsareh (Roxy) Vahid.
If you have attended our events, you will know my story. You will know that I've "made it" and I'm intimately familiar with hard work, loneliness, desperation, and hopelessness. I know what it takes to start over and achieve things that seem impossible. I have had to learn to be resilient and resourceful and think outside the box.
If you feel stuck, I want to try to help you figure out a way and break the chains that may be holding you back. If you are in that dark lonely confused place and you feel scared and stuck, I know how you feel. I know it can feel like a mammoth task, an impossible task to get through it all. I know how much strength and determination and courage is required to break the chains that are formed not just by our own thoughts but also by our circumstances. I am not here to tell you what to do. I am here to help you clarify your thoughts, possibly make some suggestions, give you hope, and try to help you move forward one way or another.
Or, maybe you are already considering a plan of action and your future and you just want to have a chat about it. Well, I am here to listen, give you my thoughts, and help you if I can.

Overall Structure
The sessions will be informal and individualised to each person. I will listen to you and try to help you find a way forward.
Everything you share during the session will be completely confidential. As an American lawyer, I am very much used to keeping things confidential and, therefore, you should have no concerns or worries about confidentiality.
If you attend more sessions, I will try to assist you with creating a plan of action for your personal journey. And, if you require assistance which I cannot provide during the session, I will try to find answers/solutions for you after the session and I will get in touch with you.
My goal for these sessions is to help you feel supported and never alone and afraid.
Cost
This session requires a donation of £80.00 to WE MCR which is a non-profit entity. All funds go towards supporting women.
Or, become a Radiant Member to get a free session followed by 50% discount on follow-up sessions.
We want to be inclusive and available to help all women regardless of their financial means. Therefore, if you cannot afford this fee, please email us at finance@womenempoweredmcr.org and we will consider giving you a discount.
Refund Policy
Generally speaking, your payment is non-refundable. However, if you have exceptional circumstances, please email us at finance@womenempoweredmcr.org to explain your circumstances and request a refund.
Meetup Costs
Recently Meetup is adding their costs to the reservations when you reserve here. Therefore, when you are making payment, you may see a higher fee to cover this cost. We do not receive this additional money.
If you would like to avoid this additional cost, you can pay us directly by bank transfer or using PayPal. Please email us at directors@womenempoweredmcr.org to arrange this. Reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Friendly Reminders
All of our events and platforms are a safe space for women. This means:
- We do not judge. We respect other women. We understand that each of us is unique and different, and we avoid gossip about other women;
- We are kind towards other women. We address each other in a loving and kind manner.
- We support other women. We are present for other women in any way we are able.

- This event is for women only. We invite gentlemen to join us for our mixed-gender events.
- We are not trained UK therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists. We are Empowered women trying to empower others.

Costs/Deposit
The three course festive menu is £45 - you can see the festive menu here.
Radiant Members - No payment required. Please book for this event on our website. Radiant Members will need to pay for the cost of their food and drink directly to the venue on the evening.
Blossom Members and Non Members - Please book here on Meetup. The venue required a £10 deposit per person. Therefore, we require £15.00 to reserve your place which consists of £10 payment as a deposit towards your food, and £5.00 non-refundable PayPal/Admin fees. Blossom Members and non members will need to pay the remainder of the costs of their food and drink directly to the venue on the evening.

Financial Assistance
We aim to be inclusive and provide opportunity for growth and empowerment to all irrespective of financial status. Therefore, if you have financial difficulty and need funding to attend, please email us at finance@womenempoweredmcr.org and we may be able to provide funding for you to attend this event without an admin charge. Funding will not cover the cost of food and drinks. It would only cover the admin fee.
Refund Policy
The £5 admin fee is non-refundable. We will refund the deposit if the venue agrees. Please get in touch if you are unable to attend. We always welcome substitutes. If you can't make it, why not resell or gift your place to someone else?
