Cape to Cape (2 or 3 sections) & social activities ~ Thu 5 - Sun 8 Feb
All good things come to those who wait 😊 After having to postpone this trip a couple of times, this is it.
Hello Adventurers 👣🙂
Are you a regular hiker with a good fitness level, keen to walk a couple of sections of the Cape to Cape Track and available? If so, then please, come and join me.
Stay for a day, or two, or three (or longer); it's up to you.
You are welcome to join anytime.
ACCOMMODATION - Book ASAP
For you to organise.
I'll be staying at the Prevelly Caravan Park (basic, clean and convenient location) - Many options to choose from: cabin, camping & caravaning.
CAR SHUFFLING
To be organised early morning on the days we hike.
THURSDAY
If you arrive early, let's meet at The White Elephant Café around 12.30pm, enjoy a picnic on the beach (or grab something from the Café), a walk along the beach, a swim before and/or after.
From 5pm: Meet in the camp kitchen for nibbles and drinks followed by a BBQ.
C2C Difficulty: Terrain will include sandy beach, escarpment trails, bush trails and river side trails.
FRIDAY
Prevelly C’van to Conto Campground (approx 18kms).
Initially heading inland before descending steeply to the Boodjidup Brook crossing, the track then follows Boodjidup and Redgate Beaches before taking us to the limestone cliffs at Bob's Hollow. With spectacular views of Contos Beach, this is fantastic stretch of the Cape to Cape.
I suggest dinner at The Common in Prevelly.
SATURDAY
Smiths Beach to Moses Rock South, includes Quininup Falls (approx 17kms).
From Smiths Beach the topography changes quickly as giant granite marbles dominate near Canal Rocks. Walk high over the ridge and past Rotary Lookout, before dropping back down on to the beach at Injidup. Hike up over the ridge, through the coastal tee tree and back onto the wild south-west facing coast. Weave through stunning areas of limestone cliff and granite before ending at the fantastic Moses Rock.
SUNDAY
TBA.
STARTING TIME
I would suggest 7am.
Don't forget we have to allow time for car shuffling.
SOCIAL OUTINGS
We can chat about it and decide when in Prevelly ... visit Ngilgi cave, chocolate factory, wineries, breweries; so many options.
WHAT TO BRING
Walking gear, day pack, water bottles/bladder, snacks, lunches, fruits, swimming gear, food (breakfast, bbq), drinks etc.
NB: When you hit the Attend button you will automatically go on the waitlist, until you confirm you've organised accommodation - you will then be moved to the Going List.
Please send me a message. Thanks.
Any queries, please feel free to contact me directly.

SSSS - City Beach to Bold Park loop (8km)
Clancy's Fish Bar, 195 Challenger Parade, City Beach, WA, AUThe Summer Sunday Sunset Series (SSSS) has started. WMA will run this event every Sunday night from November to March. It starts with a 7km walk that finishes near Sunset with a picnic or food van in over 8 various locations around Perth.
Guess what today's day is? The Summer Solstice which is appropriate for the SSSSeries. Yes, today is the longest day with 14 hours 14 minutes of daylight.
This Sunday we are having a picnic by the sea as we watch the sun disappear over the horizon after our 8km walk in Bold Park. This walk starts near Clancy’s Fish Bar in City Beach and heads to Bold Park up the Reabold Hill Lookout, Zamia Trail and back to the beach via the million dollar houses. We should complete this walk just as the sun sets (7:21pm) over the Indian Ocean and complete a perfect day with a social picnic together.
What to bring: A gourmet picnic of course but for those who can’t be bothered to prepare something you can buy take away Fish & Chips at Clancy’s Fish Bar. There are also 2 BBQs just a little north of Clancys that might be free. BYO cold drink, a thermos of hot coffee, a chair/picnic rug, mosquito repellent and a jumper. If the weather is favorable perhaps some bathers & towel for a dip in the ocean afterwards.
Where to find us: Meeting at the carpark just north of Clancy’s for a prompt start. Click on the map for the exact location.
Parking: Plenty of parking nearby.
Distance: Approx. 8km
Difficulty: Mainly bitumen, hard compacted limestone paths and a little sand. Expect an easy walk but at a reasonable pace (5 to 6 km/h). We should complete the walk in an hour and 40 minutes.
Toilets: Near the meetup point.

Bold Park Tuesday Evening Walk (Internal Trails)
Bold Park, Tuart Car Park, Perry Lakes Drive, City Beach, AUJoin us for a workout along the internal bush trails of the beautiful Bold Park near City Beach. Expect a brisk hike, with an average speed of around 6kph, on undulating bush tracks with a few significant hills thrown in for fun.
At about 6km in length, this one hour workout is a great way to finish the day.
These hikes are intended for fit, regular walkers who are looking for more of a workout in nature as opposed to a gentle evening stroll.
So you don't get lost. Here is the map. 😁
