About us
Welcome to the Wellington Architects Forum, a community for technology architects, aspiring architects, and anyone interested in building a career in technology architecture.
Whether you're an Enterprise, Solution, Integration, Security, Data, Cloud, Digital or Domain Architect (or something else entirely), you'll find people here facing similar challenges, opportunities, and questions. Building architects are welcome too, but you may find the conversation gets technical/boring pretty quickly 😄.
We're a technology and vendor-neutral community focused on sharing experiences, learning from each other, building professional networks, and having open and honest conversations about architecture, strategy, delivery, and careers.
The forum welcomes people at all stages of their careers, from experienced practitioners through to those just starting their architecture journey or considering architecture as a future career path.
With Mike's move to Aussie, the community is now being led by Pete and Georgina. Like any community, we rely on our members to keep things vibrant and relevant.
We're always looking for:
- Speakers willing to share lessons learned and real-world experiences
- Suggestions for topics you'd like to see covered
- Recommendations for great speakers from New Zealand and beyond
- Organisations willing to host events
- People who simply want to join the discussion and expand their professional network
- Volunteers to help with leading the group
As the name suggests we're Wellington-based, but our members come from across New Zealand.

Deloitte Wellington, Level 12/20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington Central, Wellington 6011, New Zealand, Wellington, NZGuest speaker: Caio Tkalec LinkedIn
Caio "TK" Tkalec is an AI Solution Architect based in Wellington, leading enterprise AI architecture, governance and adoption on Microsoft Azure within a public sector organisation. In his career he has spent more than a decade at Microsoft across NZ, Australia and Brazil, delivering $75M+ in business impact and leading AI adoption programmes for ASB, Singtel and Honda Japan. He is completing a Master of Information Governance at the University of Auckland, is a Member of the Institute of Directors (MInstD) and a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, and recently presented on operationalising AI governance at ISACA Wellington. Most NZ organisations now have AI pilots and a set of AI principles. Far fewer have AI that people actually use, with governance that holds up once it's in production. In this session TK shares what works in practice: how to take AI from use case to adopted, production solution, and how to operationalise Responsible AI with ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST AI RMF without slowing delivery. Expect real lessons from Crown entity and enterprise programmes, plus a practical checklist to take back to your team.
