About us
Wekiva Wilderness Trust is a Citizen Support Organization — a dedicated team of volunteers and board members who support the work of the Wekiva River Basin state parks, and whose members and leadership volunteer at and lead park activities, host and assist in educational opportunities and, in general, bolster the excellent work of our state parks. We provide additional support for administration, maintenance, protection, resource management, and visitor services.
We are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization providing resource-based recreation while preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources.
The Park System we serve is comprised of Wekiwa Springs State Park, Rock Springs Run State Reserve, and Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park. We work with the park staff to protect and preserve the almost 50,000 acres of Real Florida.
We host hikes, lectures and classes, Junior Ranger meetups, and other nature-centered activities.
Most all events are free with park admission, and are open to all ages! Note: Wekiwa Springs State Park events require a reservation.
