Learning a new language can be scary — but you don’t have to do it alone✨.

You'll find this event perfect if you are
- looking for a place to make new friends
- keen to learn at the same time

At WASABI, we create a friendly and supportive space where everyone helps each other. Each table gets a language-school-quality worksheet filled with new vocabulary, phrases, and grammar, so you can learn naturally while chatting and **making new friends!**️✨

Most of our participants are beginners, so don’t worry — we’ve all been there!

【Event Flow】
1:00pm–2:00pm — English time with worksheet
2:00pm–3:00pm — Japanese time with worksheet

You don’t have to be on time — feel free to join late!

【Participation Fee】
$5 per person
(will be $10 in the future because the host has to make 2 worksheets)

WASABIでは、新しい単語・便利な表現・文法を学べるワークシートを使った言語交換を行っています。

「ただ集まっておしゃべりしていても、英語の伸びを感じられない...！」
そんな悩みを抱えているそこのあなた...

もしかすると、いつも同じ表現ばかり使っていて、新しい言葉が増えていないのかもしれません。

新しい友達を作りながら、新しい表現もどんどん増やしていきましょう！✨

主催者は英語指導歴10年以上。各テーブルを回って丁寧にサポートしているので、英語初心者の方でも安心してご参加いただけます。

ワークシートのトピックは毎回異なり、1枚につき約1時間かけて丁寧に作成しています。これまでに270枚以上のワークシートを作ってきました。✨

Starting a new language can be scary — but you don’t have to do it alone✨.

This WASABI BASIC event is made exactly for people who are just starting out.

You don’t need to know any grammar, words, or characters yet.

If you’ve ever thought:
・I only know arigatou…
・I can’t read Japanese letters…
・I want to speak but don’t know how…

then you’ll feel right at home here.

At WASABI BASIC, you’ll receive a simple worksheet that helps you:
-learn new words and basic phrases
-recognize and practice Japanese characters
-try your first conversations

WASABIでは、ワークシートを用意しています。毎回違う会話トピックがあるため、自己紹介だけして終わりというミートアップあるあるも少なめです。また、毎回新しい単語・便利な表現・文法を載せているので、友達を作りながら自然と新しい表現の勉強になったりもします！

日本語をゼロから学びたいカナダの人も参加しているので、「教え合いながら覚える」雰囲気があります。

主催者は英語指導歴10年以上。各テーブルを回って丁寧にサポートしているので、英語初心者の方でも安心してご参加いただけます。

WASABI is hosting an extra Japanese-English language exchange in the morning this Sunday. For those who cannot attend our regular events, it is a good opportunity !

As usual, worksheets will be used for both English and Japanese time, so you will learn something new while making new friends.

Since we’re meeting at a different time than usual, if our regular schedule hasn’t worked for you, this might be your chance to join us!

【Time】
March, 15th (Sunday), from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
*your arrival does not have to be on time, late comers are welcome !

【What is ELEMENTARY Jp-Eng Exchange?】
One BIG FEATURE is that there are no complicated-looking scary Japanese characters on the Japanese worksheet in the ELEMENTARY event ! Zero Hiragana and Katakana, let alone Kanji. Good news, isn't it ? We use English alphabets to learn Japanese in this event !

In one word, Duolingo Japanese 101 level.

【Background of the temporal Zero participation fee】
Flamingo Cafe, which has supported WASABI for nearly 3 years, is currently going through operational challenges and hence has to reduce its weekday operating hours to 3 pm.

To help support the cafe as much as possible, I decided to host this event. This event is free because I hope that by welcoming more people, we can support the cafe together.

-Past worksheets will be used during the English time as it is a free event.

フラミンゴカフェはWASBIの活動を約３年間支えてくださったカフェです。

しかし近年の物価高などでカフェの経営が大変になり、平日の営業時間が一時的に3pmまでになりました。

そこで、WASABIとしては少しでもカフェの力になれたらと思い、この度追加でイベントを開催することにしました。

より多くの人にご参加いただければカフェの力添えになれると思い、イベントの参加費を無料といたしました。

これまでWASABIに参加したかったけど時間が合わずになかなか来れずにいた方など、ぜひお越しください！
