About us
Because making friends as an adult is hard — and nobody warns you.
Maybe you just moved here.
Maybe your kids left, your friends drifted, or the last few years made your world smaller and it never quite grew back.
Whatever brought you to this page: you are not the only one, and you just found the right group.
I'm Celeste. I started the original Ladies Social Group in 2011 after moving to Vermont knowing almost nobody... five major relocations taught me exactly how lonely starting over can be, so I built the group I needed.
Hundreds of women later, our motto hasn't changed: "We do shit ladies like to do."
What that looks like: monthly book club (one or two chapters at a time — never a whole book — and Vegas rules apply: what's shared in book club stays in book club), craft nights (coloring, knitting, scrapbooking, or that project you keep meaning to finish), plus potlucks, clothing swaps, and workshops on creativity, wellbeing, and life's what-comes-next questions.
Come to what feels good. Leave the rest.
We're donation-based — come as you are, give what feels right.
Nervous about walking in alone? Totally normal — almost every woman here did it once. Book a private hello with me before your first event, or arrive a few minutes early and I'll introduce you around myself.
This isn't my group, it's OUR group. RSVP to whatever sounds fun — and if you know a woman who needs this, bring her. That's how all of us got here.
Come for friends. Find sisters.
Welcome to the Burlington Area Ladies Social Group!

Book Club For Curious Women
Ladies Social Group, 11 Pearl Street, Ste 206, Essex Junction, VT, USIn August, read Chapters 5 & 6 and we will share our insights.
Girl, I get it... reading a book a month can feel overwhelming...
Especially when you already have so many things going on and you just want to relax in the few moments you have!
That's why this is the easiest book club you will ever join...
We go through ONE-TWO CHAPTERS per month instead of a whole book.
During the 2nd half of 2026 we are working through The New Menopause by Dr. Mary Claire Haver
Whether "Peri" is an unwanted guest in your life right now, the menopause ship has sailed for you or you are knowing this time of life is coming and you want to feel as prepared as possible...
Let's go through this book together, enjoy honest and real conversations while understanding our bodies better and not feeling so alone!!
In August, read Chapters 5 & 6 and we will share our insights.
This is a safe space and I believe we can all agree that Vegas rules apply

A comprehensive, authoritative book of science-backed information and lived experience, it covers every woman's needs:
- From changes in your appearance and sleep patterns to neurological, musculoskeletal, psychological, and sexual issues, a comprehensive A to Z toolkit of science-backed options for coping with symptoms.
- What to do to mediate the risks associated with your body's natural drop in estrogen production, including for diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and weight gain.
- How to advocate and prepare for annual midlife wellness visits, including questions for your doctor and how to insist on whole life care.
- The very latest research on the benefits and side effects of hormone replacement therapy.
Arming women with the power to secure vibrant health and well-being for the rest of their lives, The New Menopause is sure to become the bible of midlife wellness for present and future generations.
