Weekly meetup at Riley park (or sweet Thea if it’s too cold or raining) to hang out and sketch together! 🎨

Bring your own materiel, this is an unguided chill event, every level is welcome ☺️

I can offer some prompts if you don’t have any idea of what to draw. l like to start with a brief introduction of every members with an icebreaker question and a fun warm up to get our creative juices flowing. Please aim to be on time otherwise you'll miss it.

The goal is to meet new people, keep your art practice going and relax outside! You can bring a camping chair or a picnic blanket. There are lots of shaded spot at that time of day.

There are bathrooms and a water fountain at the park.

🧘📓 Contemplative Meditation + Journaling Circle

Short summary
Most evenings get eaten alive by noise.
This one is for slowing down enough that your attention comes back online.
We’ll begin with a few opening comments, move into a short reading, sit together in contemplative meditation, do a pass-the-stick round while the room is still quiet, journal while the mind is still settled enough to tell the truth, and then open the room for discussion.
This is one full session from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Not two shorter drop-ins.
This is also not guided meditation narration. No “imagine a beach.”
Contemplative meditation is simpler and harder than that: a short reading, a quiet sit, and the work of actually paying attention.
No experience needed. But please come on time. This works much better when the room starts together.

How the session will go
We’ll start right at 4:00 PM.
4:00-4:10 opening comments
4:10-4:20 the reading
4:20-4:45 meditation
4:45-5:10 pass the stick
5:10-5:35 journaling
5:35-6:00 discussion
During pass the stick, sharing stays brief and intentional. Nobody has to perform.

Important note about being late
Because the room settles early, late arrivals can throw it off for everyone.
If you think you’ll be late, better to come to the next one and start with the room from the beginning.
