Tucson Social Introverts & Nerds (20s, 30s, and 40s)

I wanted an excuse to drink beer and hit balls in a batting cage before it's too hot :) The Dugout Sports Bar & Grill has batting cages, pool tables, darts, pinball and arcade games. If there is an athletic-y nerd in you (or if, like me, you used to un-athletically play recreational softball) come out and hang or play pool or darts on a lazy Sunday evening.

Bring a book. Grab a drink. Take a seat. Have a chat or a read as you like.

Book Club where we will read from a choice of books that cover a different theme each month. This month's theme is Ireland or Irish Authors (fiction or non-fiction). March is the month of St. Patrick's Day when we all mysteriously (regardless of our heritage) celebrate all things Irish by donning green clothing and drinking green beer but there is a lot of rich, complex and troubled history of the Irish that is worth reading about.

Pick one of these books to read and discuss! If you're motivated to read more than one, go for it! If you want to read or discuss a different book not listed here on the theme, feel free to share that book with the group (*Note, there are soooo many other options besides Sally Rooney! I purposely did not include her titles here!) If you don't have time to read any of the books, but want to listen and/or partake in the discussion anyway, feel free!

The movies (which are my tastes, TBH) will tend to be in themes or will be a "pick one from an iconic filmmaker" (like Hitchcock, Coen Brothers, Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmusch, Scorsese, Tarantino, etc.). The suggested titles will tend to be iconic or influential movies that were made with intentional artistic choices.
