Welcome to Tower Hamlets Badminton Meetup
Looking for a fun and friendly badminton club in East London?
We run regular sessions in Isle of Dogs (George Green’s School) and Whitechapel (Mulberry Sports Centre), where players from low-intermediate to advanced come together for great games.
We provide 3–4 courts and high-quality feather shuttles – all you need is your own racket and non-marking indoor shoes.

Playing Level
Our sessions are Lower Intermediate+, Intermediate+, or High Intermediate+ depending on the slot.
You should be able to:
- Play clears, smashes, drops, drives, and net shots consistently in games.
- Rally confidently with players at your level or above.
If you’re unsure whether you meet the standard:

- Try the Shuttlesmash level guides online
- Or message us about visiting a session before booking
Players who aren’t at the right level may be asked to sit out after the first game, to ensure fun and competitive games for everyone. As a small club, we are unable to offer refunds to players that attend but are at too low of a skill level for the session. We strive for inclusivity but must consider the collective experience of the entire group.

Our Approach
- Games are rotated to give everyone fair playtime.
- Hosts may step in to balance teams.
- Please avoid “court hopping” – let others who’ve been waiting get on first.
- Fresh shuttles are available between courts.
We keep it friendly and laid-back, while making sure matches stay competitive.

Weekly Sessions
George Green’s School (Isle of Dogs, E14 3DW)
- Tuesday – Intermediate+ (8:15–10:10pm) – £12
- Thursday – Intermediate+ (7:15–10:10pm) – £15
- Friday – Lower Intermediate+ (7:15–9:10pm) – £12
- Saturday – Lower Intermediate+ (9:10–11:10am) – £12
Mulberry Sports & Leisure Centre (Whitechapel, E1 2BT)
- Saturday – Intermediate+ (9:00–11:00, 2 hours) – £12
- Saturday – Intermediate+ (11:00–12:00, 1 hour) – £6, or £3 if booked alongside the 9:00-11:00 or 12:00-14:00 session
- Saturday – High Intermediate+ Singles (12:00–14:00, 2 hours) – £15

Pay by bank transfer before the session:

- New players must pay at least 24 hours before their first session.
- RSVPs open exactly 1 week in advance.
Cancellation Policy
- If you RSVP “attending”, you’re expected to turn up.
- Cancelling within 24 hours may still be charged if your spot isn’t taken.
- Cancelling within 3 hours will be charged in full (even if the spot is filled), unless you joined from the waiting list within 24 hours of the session start
- Outstanding session fees must be cleared before you can attend again.

- Racket hire: £3 per session
- Facilities: Changing rooms and showers available
- Parking: Venue car park + local street bays (check restrictions)
