🏸 Welcome to Tower Hamlets Badminton Meetup
Looking for a fun and friendly badminton club in East London?
We run regular sessions in Isle of Dogs (George Green’s School) and Whitechapel (Mulberry Sports Centre), where players from low-intermediate to advanced come together for great games.
We provide 3–4 courts and high-quality feather shuttles – all you need is your own racket and non-marking indoor shoes.

🎯 Playing Level
Our sessions are Lower Intermediate+, Intermediate+, or High Intermediate+ depending on the slot.
You should be able to:
- Play clears, smashes, drops, drives, and net shots consistently in games.
- Rally confidently with players at your level or above.
If you’re unsure whether you meet the standard:

- Try the Shuttlesmash level guides online
- Or message us about visiting a session before booking
Players who aren’t at the right level may be asked to sit out, to ensure fun and competitive games for everyone.

- Games are rotated to give everyone fair playtime.
- Hosts may step in to balance teams.
- Please avoid “court hopping” – let others who’ve been waiting get on first.
- Fresh shuttles are available between courts.

Welcome to our thrilling Friday badminton meetup at George Green's School in Tower Hamlets.
We're a friendly group of badminton enthusiasts with players of varying levels. With 3 courts and high quality feather shuttles, we ensure an incredible experience.
If it's your first session, please message Peter on Meetup or on 07561 100 413 with your full name and phone number for our records. It's easier to communicate by text/WhatsApp and we usually aim to send a message if you're added to the attending list within 24 hours of the session, in case you miss the Meetup notification.
Low Intermediate & Above players only, please!
To maintain a steady flow of enjoyable matches, it's essential that you play at a proficient level. While our members are more than happy to offer tips and guidance to those still learning, we also want to ensure everyone gets to experience thrilling games. If your skills aren't at the appropriate level, you may be asked to sit out the session.Not sure if you're at the right level? We've got you covered:

- If you're still uncertain, message us (scroll down for contact details) to arrange a free session viewing, where you can witness our skilled players in action.
Session Rules
Our approach is laid-back and friendly. Feel free to jump onto any available court and challenge fellow players. Just remember to vacate the court promptly after your game, allowing others to jump on. We discourage court hopping (coming off the court and hopping straight onto the next available one), as there may be other players that have been waiting off court for longer.Don't worry about the shuttles either—they're conveniently placed between each court, and you're welcome to grab a fresh one if necessary.
To keep things exciting, our event hosts will occasionally select four players to organise a competitive game on the next available court. We aim to make the teams as evenly matched as possible. If you're not selected, please refrain from joining the court. Even if you're not picked, rest assured, we'll always do our best to ensure all players get a fair number of games during our sessions.
Restrings
We offer a restringing service, starting at £22 for a selection of Yonex strings (BG65ti, BG66 Ultimax, BG80, BG80 Power and many more), or £15 if you provide your own.
