Torbay Social Group

This group is for those in and around Torbay who enjoy socialising.

This group hosts events such as – meals out, bowling, quiz nights, walks, drinks evenings, afternoon tea and theatre performances. If there is an event that you would like to see in the schedule then you can become an Event Host and organise your own events.

The group is starting in January 2026 to replace The Bay Social Meetup Group.

Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December 2026 and is £5. Members joining after 1st July will pay a reduced fee of £3 for the remainder of the year.

If you are joining from The Bay Social Meetup Group your membership is payable at (or before) your first event with this group. Membership fees for 2027 will be reviewed when Meetup announce their charges.

If you are new to Meetup your first event is free, then your membership is payable when you attend your second event.

Guests that are not paid members are welcome at events, but a fee of £1 per guest, per event is payable. Please hand this to the Event Host.

To pay your membership:

• If you can, please pay by PayPal.Please make sure you use the FRIENDS AND FAMILY option otherwise PayPal will take a fee and I will not receive the full amount (I believe they also take a fee if you use a credit card). Use the link below

• If you don’t/can’t use PayPal then you can pay in cash to me (Debbie) or David L when you see us.

• Finally, David will accept a bank transfer (please contact him for details).

Removal from the group
We hope that everyone that joins the group finds something of interest to attend. However some people join and do not participate, or fail to show up.

• Unpaid members will be removed from the group after two no-shows. They are free to rejoin, but will need to pay their membership before registering for an event.
• Paid members will be removed from the group after three no-shows. They are welcome to rejoin but will need to pay their membership again before registering for an event.
• Inactive members will be removed from the group after 4 months inactivity - e.g. they have not registered for any events and Meetup shows that they were last active in the group 4 months ago.
