Each month, we choose a biography or history book to read. Whether it's about a famous leader, an unsung hero, or a fascinating event, we meet up in a relaxed setting—usually at a local bar or pub—to discuss the book, share insights, and enjoy drinks.
What to expect:
Thought-provoking discussions on history, culture, and the lives of intriguing figures.
A fun, friendly atmosphere where history lovers of all backgrounds can connect.
Great company, good drinks, and a new book every month!
Who should join: Anyone who loves a good story, historical or biographical books, and engaging conversation with a drink in hand. Whether you’re a casual reader or a history buff, everyone’s welcome.

## 📖 ABOUT THE BOOK
Join us as we delve into the electrifying mind of one of history's most brilliant and eccentric inventors. Written in 1919, My Inventions is Tesla's own firsthand account of his extraordinary life—from his childhood visions in Serbia to his groundbreaking work with alternating current, wireless transmission, and innovations that shaped the modern world.
Prepare for tales of:
- ⚡ The "War of Currents" with Edison
- 🧠 Tesla's photographic memory and mental visualization techniques
- 💡 Revolutionary inventions that were decades ahead of their time
- 🌩️ Experiments with electricity that bordered on the supernatural
- 🎭 The eccentricities of a true mad genius
This isn't just history—it's a journey into the mind of a man who saw the future and tried to build it with his bare hands (and a lot of copper wire).

P.S. - In the spirit of Tesla's eccentricity, feel free to share any conspiracy theories about how his inventions were stolen by the government or maybe aliens? :P We encourage spirited historical debate, the wilder the better!16 attendees
Drunken Historians' Society - Add your books for the next vote
State 48 Lager House, 15600 N.Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ, USHello Drunken Scribes,
We’ll be rolling out the survey to vote on for our next meetup, so now is the time to toss your favorites into the ring. You have one week to add new titles to our master list, and they must follow our group rules: essentially primary sources and historical works—nothing modern.
If you have a book you’re dying to read with the group, please add it to our list here:
Please add your suggestions by Monday, December 8th at the latest—after that, we lock the list for voting.
🔍 Quick Criteria Reminder:
- Autobiographies and firsthand accounts are highly encouraged.
- Historical works with well-documented facts or peer-reviewed sources are welcome.
- We steer away from heavily interpreted, speculative, or fictionalized history—our goal is to keep it grounded, accurate, and insightful, unless that is part of the history itself.
- Include your name next to your suggestion in case we need clarification.
As always, thank you for your contributions—I can’t wait to see what makes it to the next vote!
