About us
Welcome to our group, The Camping Collective. We are a camping community that loves to camp, enjoy many outdoor activities, and socialize. We have a lot of fun!
We support YMCA Camp Kern. Please consider donating to help fund camp scholarships https://www.campkern.org/donate-to-kern.html for children who do not have the financial resources to attend camp. If you wish to donate, click the link above. Thanks for your support!
Camping is at our core, but we also enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, boating, and local entertainment. We also have joint events with other like-minded groups, so you may see our events posted elsewhere.
We organize campouts primarily in the SW Ohio region, but as adventurers, we also explore Ohio and our neighboring states. Have an idea for a campout? Let us know!
Come as you are; everyone is welcome to bring their hammock, tent, sleeping bag, camper, RV, or whatever it is they wish to camp in. Event details will indicate if the campout is at a group camp or if you should make your reservation. We prefer to stay at county, state, and national parks if possible!
My role as the organizer is to facilitate the creation of a community of campers who enjoy being around each other and the outdoors.
If you’d like to join our group, your profile must have a photo of your face.
Don’t know anyone? DM the organizer to see if you can come as their guest.
Stay tuned to this space, we're going camping!

**6 month booking windows starts week of Dec. 09. ** and from what the rangers say it fills up fast now that reservations are allowed.
Park Specific:
Miles of sand beach, bluffs that tower 450’ above Lake Michigan, lush forests, clear inland lakes, unique flora and fauna make up the natural world of Sleeping Bear Dunes. High dunes afford spectacular views across lake Michigan. Nearby are US Life-Saving Service station Museum, coastal villages (Glen is my favorite), and clear (very cool or cold) water streams and lakes to kayak and fish.
FYI:
The park is 12 miles (as the crow flies) along the coast of Lake Michigan. So, while hiking trails lead out of the campsite and there is a kayak rental near the campsite entrance other sites/places of interest are a few miles away requiring long bike rides or car to and from travel (15- 20 miles each way).
Platte River Campground is an ACTIVE BEAR SITE, take precautions.Participate at your own risk.

Styx & Chicago Concert
Riverbend Music Center, 6295 Kellog Ave ,, Cincinnati, OH, USWhen surveyed, this is the concert most members of the group were interested in. This is a 4-pack special offer for lawn seats @ $44 per seat. Since the deal is sold in multiples of four tickets, one person will have to buy a four-pack, and three people will need to pay the person who is fronting the money. Individuals purchasing the four-pack will collect money from the other three in their ticket group.
If we have singles, then individual lawn seats are available for people.
If we don't get at least three people who sign up and pay, I will cancel the event.
Doors open at 5:30. I recommend getting there early, with the show starting at 7:00. The concert will be held rain or shine.
Two of music’s biggest bands, legendary multi-Platinum rockers Chicago and Styx, got their start in Chicago, and now they’re joining together for their first-ever co-headlining tour, bringing the best of the Midwest to venues nationwide with “The Windy Cities Tour - All The Hits…Your Kind of Tour.” The tour will include a stop in Cincinnati, OH at Riverbend Music Center on Thursday, August 6.
“We are excited about the summer tour,” says Chicago trumpeter Lee Loughnane. “Chicago has never toured with Styx before, so it's going to be a lot of fun; we're looking forward to it.”
“In my early days of live performing, I had several mentors who were kind enough to let me join in and play with them despite not being able to read charts,” adds Styx singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw. “Rod Henley, Ricky Parsons, Bobby and Larry Moore, Eddie Wohlford, Wimpy Jones, Country Boy Eddie, and others gave me a shot. And I am thankful for that. By the time Chicago released their first album, I had enough experience to begin learning their amazing music on my own. Now, the idea of Styx touring with Chicago is a major thrill all on its own. We can’t wait to spend the summer with them!”Read more: Styx and Chicago at Riverbend
