About us

The Bipolar Collective for Young Adults is an in-person community for young adults living with bipolar disorder who want to connect with people who truly understand the ups, downs, and everything in between.
Our goal is simple: to create a welcoming, judgment-free place to meet others, build real friendships, share experiences, and feel less alone.
Meetups are relaxed and peer-focused. We’ll talk about the things that actually affect everyday life—relationships, work and school, medications and treatment experiences, managing mood changes, family, independence, stigma, and figuring out life as a young adult with bipolar disorder.
As the group grows, meetings may also include short wellness topics and guided discussions inspired by respected bipolar resources such as The Social Rhythm Therapy Workbook for Bipolar Disorder and the DBSA Facing Us Wellness Book.
We also hope to bring in occasional guest speakers—such as therapists, psychiatrists, peer specialists, and others with useful real-world experience—to share practical information and answer questions.
Most importantly, this is not meant to be a group that only talks about what is wrong. We want to talk honestly about the hard things and share what is working, celebrate progress, learn from each other, build friendships, and focus on moving forward.

Not Really a “Group” Person? That’s Okay.
We get it. Traditional support groups aren't for everyone—and sometimes the last thing you want to do is sit in a circle and talk about how you're feeling.
The Bipolar Collective is meant to be different.
Come hang out. Meet people. Eat something. Listen if you want to listen. Talk if you want to talk. Some meetups will include a short wellness topic or discussion, while others may be mostly social.
There is never pressure to share your story.
Our hope is that support becomes something that happens naturally when you're surrounded by people who understand.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to be in a certain place in your journey. Come as you are.

Location: Private home in the El Dorado Hills/Shingle Springs area. Exact address will be shared with confirmed attendees before the event.

This is a peer-support and social community, not group therapy or a substitute for professional mental health care.
