What we’re about
A COMMUNITY FOR ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Welcome New York to The Art of Photography! Our purpose is to spark creativity, open new doors, incite discussion and learn from each other in a positive and sharing environment. The basis of which is to facilitate the merging of the principles of art and graphic design with excellent camera craft. To take each one of us, no matter what level of experience, to places, levels and worlds that are out of our comfort zone. To grow, to see, to inspire unique visions. Our critique programs, our photo shoots and our educational sessions are free. Your submissions for discussion are for you to choose without regard to theme or genre.
The Art of Photography began as a museum art school program in 2002 and has expanded to over 14,000 members worldwide. So many of whom have grown into exceptional photographers that are hugely represented in international award shows. New York, we are truly excited for your participation and look forward to your development as Fine Art Photographers. Be on the lookout for some very exciting photo shoots and presentations that will be posted on an on-going basis. Also join our International Site to check out over 250 albums created by our members. Thank you for your interest and good shooting.

- TAOP NYC x Cameras and Coffee @ ICP, Discussion-Street Photography & Photo ShootInternational Center of Photography Museum, New York, NY
Hello Fellow NYC TAOP Members
Let's get together at the International Center of Photography on Saturday, December 14th at 11am during their Cameras and Coffee series. During this event we will be able to take advantage of ICP's "community meet-up for photographers, collectors, and camera enthusiasts!" The café has La Colombe coffee and pastries.
We will be discussing an article on a photographic topic that was written by our founder, Jack Wild, to introduce you to various photographic concepts that we feel will be beneficial to assist you in becoming better photographers. This session we will be discussing an article on Street Photography.
This series is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, so if you can't make it to this event, don't worry. Also, because this isn't a large venue, we will have to limit the number of attendees to 25 MAX. ***Please remember to change your RSVP if you decide not to attend. ***
You can, however, meet us at 12pm and join us just for the photo shoot afterwards.
After Cameras and Coffee, we will be heading out for a photo shoot between 12pm - 1pm! We will meet back at the ICP cafe to grab some drinks and discuss the shoot.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow TAOP NYC members in a more conversationally conducive environment, as well as other photography enthusiasts. Also, ICP's neighborhood is great for shooting.
This event is free to attend but ICP does recommend RSVPing at this link: Cameras and Coffee: Community Meet-Up (December 2024) | International Center of Photography (icp.org). (you can copy the text into your browser).
Meeting Location/Time/Hosts
Location: ICP is located at 79 Essex Street, New York, NY between Delancey St & Broome St.
Time: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Hosts: Joseph and Doug. We will meet at the ICP's café @ 11 am. We will be wearing the TAOP NYC welcome stickers.
