What we’re about
Our Tampa Bay Cycling meetup group is targeted for Tampa Bay area cyclists interested in joining together to enjoy biking in the Tampa Bay area. We offer multiple biking speed classes, some shorter introductory group rides averaging from 10 to 12 mph, some rides 12 to 14, and others that are 15 to 18 mph. We are adding leaders for some even faster rides. Please check each meetup for specifics on the average speed anticipated for the bike ride. Most of our rides are as a social, relaxed, but supportive group, in other words no paceline, and trash talking. As we add faster rides some may have a paceline, read the ride description.
Negative or adversarial comments, posts or actions will result in removal and banning of the offending party.
Helmets are required, lights are heavily suggested, and participation is at your own risk, a waiver may be required which leader will bring to ride.
Our founder Patrick Hodgson, started this biking group (originally as Pinellas Pedalers) to meet other cycling enthusiasts and looking forward to exploring the many trails and safe bicycling roads in the area. Although all cyclists of all levels are welcome to join in, our rides will be from 10-90 miles, with most around 20 to 50 miles, and on occasion, a century ride.
We also like to get some of the members to join together to form a team to ride in the various charity events around the state of Florida.
All of our rides are posted on meetup. https://www.meetup.com/Tampa-Bay-Cycling/events/
We at Tampa Bay Cycling do not charge dues.

- Tampa Bay Cycling meetup jersey store is openNeeds location
- I created a new jersey for the Tampa Bay Cycling store! I hope you like it. It has a Florida and Living in Paradise theme. Ghe folks that bought at initial offering love it so far. A great blue.
The Tampa Bay Cycling store is open!
We are not able to offer three choices of designs as supplier limits our store to 2, we are offering the original first/map one this go around and NOT the hi vis. If you like either of the two offered jerseys (map or Living in Paradise), please order them now as there is no guarantee either of these two will be offered again. Additionally due to the effort involved Grenda and myself it may be 2026 before we open store again as everyone else in Tampa Bay Cycling we are volunteers.
Remember if you are ok picking up from Grenda in Largo when checking out choose ship to TEAM HQ and save shipping $$. If not ok going to her in Largo to pick up, just ship to yourself. If someone else can help be a mini-distribution point let Grenda and me know by posting that here and include where you live.
If you do not live near Largo or go on rides with Grenda then do NOT pick ship to team HQ.
Be sure to thank Grenda if you pick your jersey up from her.
Delivery will be by September 30th, 2025,
It is great that so many of you have bought one of our two prior jerseys getting the Tampa Bay Cycling name out there, we hope you order one of these two as well. Obviously if you have other jerseys the shorts or bibs color coordinate with order extra ones.
On sizing, check the sizing chart closely. Especially use chest size. I wear XL in the new inflated sizes at Walmart. In these more European/Asian non inflated sizes I wear a 3x. No returns. They are custom. If someone bought one in the wrong size list in comments what you have and price. Also choose which "cut" you want prudently there is real difference. Race cut is skin tight. Others are looser.
there are two choices of quality.
The difference between the Elevate jersey and the Volare Elite lies in their fabrics and features. The Volare Elite jersey is made from their lightest fabric, weighing just 100GM, while the Elevate jersey is slightly thicker at 120GM. The Volare Elite also includes a zipper cover, additional ventilation panels under the arms and back, and features a power band on the sleeves instead of elastic. Additionally, the Volare Elite jersey is available in a race cut.The store closes soon. Order now. At this point we open store once a year so please announce at your rides the store is open and share on Facebook and other places. Let's get the Tampa Bay Cycling name out there!
