About us
Welcome to a friendly, active winter hiking group for all experience levels who have basic winter skills and proper gear. We focus on snowshoeing, winter hikes, summit hikes, and snowy mountain adventures around Tahoe and Northern California. Whether you’re newer to winter hiking or have years of experience, you’re welcome here.
We host outings that range from shorter winter hikes and snowshoe routes to longer, more demanding summit objectives. Each event clearly lists distance, elevation gain, pace, and overall difficulty level so participants can make an informed decision before joining.
Small group sizes help keep outings safe, social, and enjoyable. Participants are expected to have basic winter hiking skills, understand mountain conditions, and arrive fully equipped for the terrain and weather.
We explore winter terrain around Tahoe and Northern California, including Donner Summit, Mt. Tallac, Waterhouse Peak, and other local routes. In the future, we may venture to bigger objectives like Mount Shasta or Yosemite-area winter routes for those seeking more advanced adventures.
Most outings require proper winter gear such as snowshoes, microspikes, trekking poles, winter boots, and appropriate layering systems.
