Discover, Create, Connect at the Suwanee Arts Center!

The Suwanee Arts Center (SAC), formerly the North Gwinnett Arts Association, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing artists and art lovers together. Our goal is to foster creativity, learning, and community through art.

We welcome artists of all types—painters, photographers, potters, woodworkers, jewelers, fabric artists, writers, metal workers, and digital creators—to join our open membership community.

Located in the heart of Suwanee Town Center, SAC hosts year-round art classes, six exhibits each year, major fundraising events, and serves as a cultural hub for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re here to learn, create, or simply connect with fellow art enthusiasts, SAC is your space to explore and celebrate the arts.

    About the Session(s)
    - This is a 2 session class that occurs on Wednesday, September 9th & 16th
    - The art medium used in the class is traditional.

    Service Description

☀️Catch the golden hour on paper: Paint the rich, sun-drenched beauty of the season's shift using intentional color mixing.

☀️In this two-session watercolor workshop you'll dive into the magic of color theory by learning how to mix primary and secondary colors intentionally. With a little palette exploration, we will learn to avoid muddy tones and create the deep rich palettes unique to late summer.

☀️Through hands-on guidance and practice, you will level up your watercolor practice by layering warm light, painting soft atmospheric hazes, and bringing seasonal fields and skies to life. By the end of these two three-hour sessions you'll complete a finished landscape painting and gain the confidence to create more.

    You’ll learn how to:

    - Work with bold washes and fine brushwork
    - Create depth and softness with layering
    - Play with color saturation and composition
    - Capture the elegance of summer in a personal and painterly way

Each student will work on multiple watercolor sheets:
    - One for your final landscape painting
    - One for practicing techniques that will support your future watercolor projects

    - Prices:

    • For Non-Members: $105 - Pay this once for both classes
