RPG Game Day Brookline / Halfling's Hideout
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USJoin us Sunday for a Tabletop RPG Game Day at Halfling's Hideout in Brookline, Pittsburgh.
Whether you've never touched a d20 or you've been rolling dice for years, you've got a seat at the table. Our GMs run standalone one-shots across a mix of systems — D&D, indie games, narrative RPGs, and whatever they're most excited to bring. No experience required. Pre-generated characters are available for most games.
Halfling's Hideout is a tabletop specialty shop with dedicated table space and terrain available for GMs who want to add some flair to their sessions. Snacks and drinks are available in-store, and outside food is welcome. The neighborhood has great options nearby: Las Palmas for tacos and Pitaland for gyros from a local Greek bakery, plus bars and restaurants within walking distance.

- Browse the individual game listings — added as GMs submit their sessions.
- Sign up for the game you want. That's the signup that matters.
- Show up ready to play.
If a game is full, join the waitlist and still show up. No-shows happen, and spots open more than you'd think. No guarantees, but it's worth being there.
Already RSVP'd but can't make it? Update your Meetup attendance as soon as you know. It takes 10 seconds and means someone on the waitlist gets to play.

Submit a game with the GM Submission Form
Games are listed individually on Meetup once confirmed, so players can sign up directly for your session.***

D&D BECMI/ B3: Palace of the Silver Princess / Brookline RPG Day
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USBefore bounded accuracy. Before character builds and subclass trees. Before the dungeon acknowledged your feelings about it — there was D&D BECMI. And it ran like this.
B3: Palace of the Silver Princess is a published TSR module running on the 1983 rules that shaped everything that came after. BECMI strips the game to its essentials: exploration, resource pressure, and a dungeon that will absolutely kill your character if you give it the chance. Gold earns experience. Torches burn down. Death is fast and not particularly dramatic.
Character creation happens at the table — no prep, no backstory required, no attachment recommended. The format runs comfortably at larger table sizes, so bring whoever you want.
- Classic TSR module, run as designed
- Character creation at the session — arrive empty-handed
- High lethality by design: don't get attached
- Larger table capacity: bring your crew
No experience needed. The rules are light enough to learn in five minutes. The dungeon, however, does not offer a tutorial.

Blades in the Dark '68/ The Frame-Up / Brookline RPG Day
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USYou had one simple job: pick up a package from a crime lord your client can't be seen with.
The Frame-Up is a Blades '68 one-shot that starts after everything has gone wrong. The crime lord's office is wrecked, the wall-spanning window is gone, and the package is nowhere to be found. Except it isn't missing. One of you clutches a briefcase and falls four stories toward the pavement.
Who hired you? What's in the case? Who betrayed you? And how do you survive the drop?
- Action from the opening scene, with no slow warm-up
- A mystery to unravel: the client, the contents, and the traitor
- Intrigue where trust is in short supply
- A structured story with real player choices along the way
Land first. Sort out the betrayal later.
No experience needed. Pre-generated characters provided.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Spearhead/ Hour of Ruin / Brookline RPG Day
Halfing's Hideout, 730 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA, USThe realms are cracking open, and what’s crawling up through the seams isn’t waiting for anyone to be ready.
Hour of Ruin is a Warhammer Age of Sigmar (4th Edition) Spearhead learn-to-play session. This one isn’t a role-playing game. It’s a tabletop miniatures wargame: armies on a battlefield, and you making the tactical calls. Spearhead is the fast, standalone way into the hobby, built around a single boxed army and a battle that fits in an afternoon.
The Mortal Realms are eight elemental worlds linked by ancient gateways called Realmgates. For centuries they’ve been fought over by Order, Chaos, Death, and Destruction. Now the balance has shattered into the Hour of Ruin. Hordes are pouring up from below, old empires are waking, and alliances are forming out of pure desperation.
We’re running this one as a 1v1. You’ll command your own army, team up with a teacher and face an opponent, and plan your moves and see if you can gain the tactical advantage. Experienced players will be at the table to teach the rules as you go and offer suggestions when you want them. The decisions are yours.
- Tactical, strategy-first play: positioning, objectives, and smart choices
- Armies provided, so there’s nothing to buy, build, or paint
- Team play: plan with a partner and win or lose together
- Experienced players coach you through the game
No experience with Age of Sigmar or miniatures needed. Come curious and ready to outthink your opponents.
