🪑 So, how does it work?
– Small tables for two.
– A series of 1-on-1 conversations (10–15 min each).
– You don't have to approach anyone. You just sit down — and talk.
– We guide the flow and tell you when to rotate 🔄.

You’ll be matched with almost everyone — but nothing is forced. You can take a break whenever you need.
- I’m shy — is this for me?
Absolutely. You don't have to approach anyone or come up with the perfect opener. Just show up.
- Is this like speed dating?
The format is similar (1-on-1 conversations that rotate), but there's no romantic angle. This is about real friendship, not a date.
- Why is the location secret?
We share the venue only with confirmed guests. Keeping it private helps us match the space to the group size and creates a more intimate, focused experience.

​​​​- Can I come alone?
Yes — almost everyone does. You're not walking into a crowd. You're walking to a table where everyone already knows a little about you, and you about them.
- I'm not a great storyteller — is this for me?
Especially for you. There's no performance, no stage. The question does the work — it pulls out a real memory and you just talk. People are far more interesting than they think when they stop trying to "introduce themselves."
- Do I have to share anything deep or personal?
No. The questions are made to be fun. You decide what to answer and how much to give.
- What if I don't click with the whole table?
The Soda changes format every round — full-table rounds, pair rounds, side talks. You're never stuck in one dynamic. And with six matched people, you usually need just one round to find your person.
- Is this speed dating?
No romance pressure here. It's about real connection — friendships, interesting people, maybe your next favourite person in Lisbon. Whatever happens after is up to you.
- Who else will be at my table?
We read everyone's questionnaire to get a feel for the group, then put the tables together. The day before, you'll get a short intro to the people you'll be sitting with — so you arrive already knowing a little about them.
- Why is the location secret?
Keeping it private keeps the night intimate and avoids walk-ins. The exact address is shared only with your table.
- Are drinks included?
No, drinks are paid separately.
- How long does it last?
Plan for around 1.5 hours for the story rounds and free chat. Stay longer if you'd like. Fair warning: our Soda events usually run longer – because nobody wants to leave.
