What we’re about
We're based in Pennsylvania. We've added a few people from outside this area. At this time we're mostly meeting online, but a few of us occasionally meet in person in the York area. At our Meetups you can participate either by webcam or telephone call.
This discussion group is about society and social progress - that includes: the role of human values; culture; technologies; economy; the arts; different views of the future; philosophy; etc.
.
At the beginning of each discussion, people can suggest possible topics, and then we can pick one or two topics to discuss that day - in any case, we can go into lots of tangents. We can also consider choosing a topic ahead of time for the next Meetup.
Additionally, some of us also participate in another Meetup group related to aspects of society, technology, and social ideas. "Science & Sci-Fi - online": https://www.meetup.com/sci-and-sci-fi/
.
We meet the second Wednesday evening of each month. The link will be sent after 6:00 pm that evening to everyone who RSVPd. If you don't see the link in your inbox by about 6:30 pm, contact the organizer directly through this link: https://www.meetup.com/society-and-technology-pa/members/?op=leaders
That way your message will go directly to the organizer's email inbox.
