Sixty Plus and Smiling

NON HOSTED EVENT - You can sign up on meet up if you want to see who else from the group is going but . . . to register for the class you MUST call the teacher Suzie at her store Polly and Esther at 412-863-1240.

If you get the store machine, leave your name and telephone number - the registration fee can be paid in cash at the class. Just remember - no shows will not be able to sign up for any future events - this is a game that requires 4 players to a table - so please be sure you are able to attend prior to registering.

Suzie Hauptman, a mahjong instructor for over 30 years, will hold a "Beginner" class for $30. If you have attended one of Suzie Hauptman's Mahjong classes, you are familiar with her upbeat teaching style. Suzie will walk us through board set up, game rules, and hand selection. At the end of the class you will use what you learned to play an open handed game.

Suzie is also the owner of a delightful women's clothing boutique called Polly and Esther where we will set up and play. Arrive early to explore Polly and Esther. If you have paid for the class, you will receive a 10% discount on any purchase made before class begins.

The weather should be sunny and mild (if this changes to rain, the hike will be cancelled, but not the lunch), so a great day for a walk at Frick Park!

We will climb some stairs, but the trail is mainly downhill or level, with only one mild uphill section. It is about 1.25 miles. Wear walking shoes that can get dirty.

You also have the option to join us for BOTH the HIKE and LUNCH at Famous Cafe afterward, or to HIKE ONLY or LUNCH ONLY. Lunch will be at about 12:45 pm. If you only want to Hike, I will add you to "going" even if the maximum attendees limit is reached.

DIRECTIONS: We will meet in the Lower Frick Park parking lot where there is plenty of free parking. Take Braddock Road to Hutchinson and (if coming from the parkway) turn left at the Frick Park Tavern on the corner. Follow to the end of Hutchinson and turn right when you see the Frick Park sign. Go to the bottom of the road to the parking lot.
I will be at the picnic table at the lot and I will have a Meetup sign. Please be on time as we will start at 11:30 promptly.

We will drive back up to Braddock Rd and either park on Hutchinson street or side streets ... or, if possible, find a spot on Braddock (1hr limit on the side by Famous Cafe or 2hr limit across the street).

Play bingo for plants! This is a fun and light evening.

We will play 6 rounds of regular bingo with prizes of rare and large statement plants. The first drink is on them, and everyone gets a small plant to take home.

Tickets are $35, and you must buy them in advance at the link below. Note that these events do sell out!
